hello everyone,
I recently bought the o2 xda zinc phone from asia. At the airport back home in USA, I accidentally dropped the phone on the floor, and the screen of the phone cracked, and some other things in the phone went wrong, because I couldn't switched on the phone.
I was wondering, are there any service or repair centers in the states where I can get my phone fix? Do you mind emailing me the address and place? is there any in san francisco, CA?
Urgent!
Please acknowledge soon.
thank you
charles

The Zinc is by far the most problematic unit I have ever had. It hangs a lot even before you install any thing, the phone system is erratic, you can't call or send messages until you do a soft reset several times, to get everything back to normal. i bought it from Dubai and using it in Oman This is a very frustrating product... I cant seem to transfer my sim memory to storage card
Anybody pls help .....

To change the sound alert is very straight forward. Record in .wav file and have in pasted into windows root folder (not any sub folder).
Importantly, the file size must be below 1MB.
Hope that helps.

I've been an O2 PDA user from its very early days, I have been upgrading to new models when they arrive in the market... from the XDA, to XDA II, XDA IIs, and now I'm using XDA Zinc.
The Zinc is by far the most problematic unit I have ever had. It hangs a lot even before you install any third party apps, the phone system is erratic, you can't call or send messages until you do a soft reset several times, sometimes you even have to do a hard reset to get everything back to normal. The applications that comes with it are full of bugs too. I already upgraded to WM6 and it didn't solve my phone problems so I went back to WM5. It's still has a lot of problems and the local support in Manila has not been of any help. This is a very frustrating product... and I will probably not buy another O2 products again! I have spent countless days and hours of lost productivity time just resetting (both soft & hard reset) to make the system work. I no longer install all the applications I just recently bought (WM5 & WM6 compatible) to lessen the problems but they're still there. This by far the worst PDA phone I have ever had. Shame on O2. You destroy my trust in your brand!

Great phone, great feature... also got it at a very cheap price. The total cost of phone + 2yr contact cost less then the retail price of this phone in the market.

it does support WM 6.0... you might screwed up when updating the ROM...very satisfied with the phone after the upgrade...more personalization...you are able to customize almost everything the interface and how it suits you on your daily use... well i was dissapointed before the upgrade (orig ROM WM5.0)... phone looses signal most of the time, windows media player doesn't allow you to create playlist, while creating sms or email and at the same time someone calls you the phone HANGS...well all of these problems were gone after the ROM UPDATE... and technical support team that is offered on www.seeo2.com is very responsive also... UP for this PHONE

To anyone considering the O2 Zinc,
Wait for the HTC Kaiser. You wont regret it.
I have the Zinc and it conitnually crashing or loosing signals. WM6 doesnt work on the Zinc either. I had to downgrade the O/S to WM5.
