BBK is killing Oneplus subbrand slowly but steadily. This phone screams "average", which is not a bad thing, but it is also not good enough to compete against the competition. I know there are still hardcore fanboys that love Oneplus. But simply spoken, of the people I know personally 100% ditched their Oneplus and went for other brands.

ALonZo, 22 Mar 2023I've been a OP customer for 4 years and only recently ... moreI didn't say the S23 Ultra is junk, that is a great phone that is much more expensive than the OnePlus 11 and competes in a different price class, despite the vastly more expensive price it still has deficiencies such as only 12 GB of ram, slower charging and no WiFi 7 compared to OnePlus, therefore, it's not a total victory and should still be much better considering the obscene price.

What I mentioned is garbage though is the regular S23 and S23+ as they have noticeably weaker specs than OnePlus 11 for more money.

Software is a personal preference, however, I personally prefer Oxygen OS 13 to OneUI with it's duplicated S-Apps and heavy bloatware. In addition to this, the Oxygen OS is TUV SUD certified for fluency and in my experience OnePlus phones age better and retain their smoothness over extended use unlike Samsung, as such, I'm making the argument that OnePlus software is better.

Anonymous, 18 Mar 2023It seems that you should check yourself into an institute, ... moreI've been a OP customer for 4 years and only recently made a switch to an S23 Ultra. I can tell you that the S23 Ultra is not a brick or junk, that's a fact.

I have a weak spot for OnePlus phones but the transition from Oxygen OS to Color OS really did start to affect the phone's performance over the last year. Unfortunately, BBK will dedicate their best for Oppo, OnePlus will always play second fiddle.

The software experience between Samsung and OnePlus is becoming more distant. I much prefer One UI 5 than Oxygen OS 13. And the hardware on the Ultra is incredible.

ViVo, 16 Mar 2023If you genuinely think OnePlus has better hardware/software... moreIt seems that you should check yourself into an institute, the hardware certainly seems better to me on the OnePlus 11. For starters it has a true LTPO QHD+ display of 525 PPI with Dolby Vision, not the entry level non-LTPO 400 PPI junk on the Samsung that only has HDR10+, it also has a proper flagship grade 16 GB of ram instead of the pathetically mid-range 8 GB on the Samsung which was flagship in 2019, good luck with future software updates and device aging. WiFi 7 is also present on the OnePlus and will never exist on the S23+, so much for flagship grade comms. The 80 watt SuperVOOC charger included with my OnePlus 11 also charges from 19% to 90% in 16 minutes all the while the device remains cool. in addition, with the Oppo battery health engine my battery will be at 80% capacity still after 1600 charging cycles instead of your 800. Therefore, I don't see how you can make any battery life argument as your beloved S23 has no charger at all and at best half the charging speed/battery endurance if you pay for the overpriced Samsung brick. In addition to this, you should review the spec sheet for the rear cameras again line by line because unless you are blind or illiterate, the S23+ has worse camera hardware fitted to the back which no software is going to mitigate.

You can move along Samsung fan as the only thing Samsung currently offers is hype and overpriced products catering to the technically inept, so sad considering that they used to be cutting edge. It is clear as day to anyone who is not a brainwashed fanatic that the OnePlus 11 is a better flagship than the S23+ and it also happens to be better while costing hundreds less.

This was the case about 4 years back when OneUI was in its early stages with bugs and being unoptimized, its' now as smooth if not smoother than iOS. On top of that, its the most feature packed UI out there. OnePlus is good value for money, that's about it. Doesn't offer anything that's world leading as opposed to Samsung with it's camera system, incredible battery and amazing software right now.

This is truly the price/performance champion on the North American market, I recently bought one for a family member as a birthday gift in 16GB/256 Eternal Green and everything about it feels premium and top notch, even the cameras seem to go toe to toe with the Pixel 7 Pro which is amazing.

All the compromises that are made to the spec to achieve the vastly lower price point simply make sense and don't impact the user experience. Take wireless charging for instance, a gimmick that is inefficient and only serves to cook your battery when you have 100 watt SuperVOOC, or take the full IP68 rating which is another useless thing as the manufacturer doesn't even guarantee water damage and would not cover it, therefore you should not get it submerged (plus it has IP64 and gaskets so it is rain proof). Even the use of a USB 2.0 socket does not matter because let's face it, how often are you actually performing full backups to your computer? If you compare it to something like the Samsung S23+ which is it's direct competitor it all makes sense, far superior hardware with Oxygen OS that is a much nicer and less bloated skin, why anyone would get the Samsung for many hundreds more over the OnePlus simply escapes me, especially now that OnePlus gives you a proper 4 generations of Android updates + 5 years of security patches.
