When this model (5?) is launched it will certainly be priced closer to the existing high end market. One+ need to cash in bigger to evolve and cover development cost and the market (end consumer) will have to step up to pay it.

Do a google search on oneplus 5 and tell me how many results you get?Do you think all that publicity comes free(only Donald was smart enough to get some free)?
How many youtube geek vloggers are discussing about oneplus?Think all the fuss is tax free?Some is no doubt,but definitely not all...enough to get things started(like we are doing now).
How many youtube reviewers are comparing model xxx from brand yyy with ''my OnePlus 3''?

Not saying this is wrong,all manufactures do this but are you sure you haven't seen any OnePlus advertising ?

The current market situation is different).
Slowly but surely they will move away from the core fans towards "the bigger" market.OnePlus is already spending more and more on marketing and advertising thus the bigger and bigger price tags.
Business is about making money not "fair" products.
The higher price range was expected, 500-600$ OnePlus...interesting to see how the market will react to it.
A little too soon to go into big brand price range in my opinion but they probably did some projections.

Perhaps, they should release a sh*tty low range model maybe called the Oneplus 5 Play or Oneplus 5E for those who can't afford $600 - $650 flagship phone. Oh yeah, add mediatek chipset onto those low range devices, what's all the impoverished gonna say about that lol.

Anonymous, 30 May 2017I wonder who the f*ck needs 8 GB ram beside a few crazy gam... moreCouldn't agree more.OnePlus was about high specs,optimized OS,regular updates and no frills design(the ones interested in OnePlus could deal with the boring design).
Now the regular update/upgrade part is gone and for the 500+ USD(that will be 500+ Euros in Europe) price range I'll be looking for something with a little more style.
OnePlus won't be ''done'' right away.They will slowly fade out.Sad but this is how things work.

Price is around 450 dollars and if you don't make its gonna be only 100 dollar more expensive. I understand what are you saying but the world is moving on so they have to make some profit also to keep their work making these phones. They even said that they didn't make much profit with OP1 OPX OP2 and OP3 only OP3t was success to make some profit.
