Last good phone - metal case, notification slider (!), headphone jack, easy to repair, thin, sleek and fast. Replaced the charging port and battery - running as new after 5 years. Will keep it until it disintegrates.

I love this phone.

It has became unaffordable to buy OnePlus flagships now and they are not too far from pricing of Samsung / Apple. OnePlus no longer have edge in its nnew offerings.

Bought it when it came out, excellent phone, battery needs to be recharged more frequently but other than that, best SoC at the time, excellent camera and excellent next-to-stock android, optimized for performance. Very durable and shock-proof phone, old glory says of OnePlus when you could by best phone for a fraction of a price of Samsung or other flagships

Been using this phone for the past 4 and half years, the phone works fine. The only place where the phone lags behind is the camera and battery otherwise it is surely a masterpiece.

The last OnePlus phone to be made out of aluminium instead of glass. I now realize this is why I much prefer old OnePlus phones over the new ones.
But even the OnePlus X's all-glass design somehow looks so much better than today's all-glass phones. It's just so minimal looking. Today's phones have very "busy" designs.

Either that or it was fake "brand-new", and had actually been used, and the battery degraded that way.

Purchased this phone (OnePlus 5) brand new, approximately 1 year ago. I am quite disappointed.
The battery doesn't last nearly as much as i imagined: with little use and few apps installed/running, i still have to charge it once per day; and if i do use it more actively (e.g. Photos or Google Maps), the battery won't even last the day.
The worst problems are the GPS and SMS.
GPS has never worked properly, and the "grounding improvement" fix didn't change much. When using Google Maps, it constantly loses its bearings, to the point it becomes useless.
Then there's the SMS, which rarely works. Even deleting the contact and typing in the number only works sometimes.
This was the first and will be my last OnePlus. The brand may once have been good, but now seems like the rest of the garbage around.

My 5T just died on my recently after using it flawlessly for about 3 1/2 years. It just won't start up anymore. One thing I love about this phone is it's thinness and the fingerprint sensor at the back which can double as a notification slider and camera snapper. I am thinking of getting a new phone, but am not seeing any phone with these qualities. Should I get another 5T or there's a phone out there that gives the same quality? NB. it's not about better quality but same quality.
