I got an Ulefone power 2 with 6050 mAH battery recently. As well as other specs on an equal level with one plus (Except RAM which is 4 GB; but quite rarely one needs a 6 GB or 8 GB RAM). And it cost me only USD 170!!

Oh shit.................nothing changed, but only body design and quad-core to octa-core between oneplus 5 and oneplus 3T.

All this hoopla about battery capacity. Check out YouTube and the reviews by those who have used the phones for at least a week now. Haven't heard a peep of complaints from them about that. Mainly the wish list is for water resistance, lower price based on what it has and a spot for a memory card. Cnet likes the battery. Absorb the experience and don't look at the one number.

It is too easy to lose a phone as it is a small device that we carry everywhere

Anonymous, 21 Jun 2017Security, performance and marketing. External storage if... more- Security should be up to the user - I bet most Android phones (including OnePlus) are not encrypting the internal storage by default either
                  - Performance - a decent microsd is plenty fast for storing photos, podcasts, videos, etc
                  - Marketing - Doesn't apply to OnePlus as it's only $70 for an extra 64GB of storage and 2GB of RAM - having an SD card would sell more of both units (I would buy the 128GB version myself).

The SD controller is already included on the Snapdragon 835 SOC, the only thing that manufacturer needs to do is add a slot and wire it to the SOC.

Some other possible, but easily shot down reasons:
                  - Water proofing - OnePlus 5 doesn't have a water resistance rating and Galaxy S5 (with an SD card) does
                  - Space / size - I bet there's enough room to include a slot without changing the case size at all, and if it did need to be changed, it's likely it would not be noticed by anyone - it would still be just as pocketable.
                  - Cost - extreme discount phones (ex $50) have microSD card slots, so it's definitely not a problem

Conclusion: It's a bad decision (likely the root cause is copying Apple, Google, etc, which is not an excuse - OnePlus and any non-market leader should be trying to beat the market leaders, not copy exactly what they do)

I would buy this but there's no SD card slot and no infrared - everything else looks great

Price is important to me, but I'm willing to pay $70 extra for an extra 2GB ram, so I'd have the 128GB model anyway, but I still want an SD card!!! I really can't understand OnePlus not including the slot.
After having 3 LG G4's die on me, with nothing recoverable off the phone memory, and all the SD card memory completely recoverable, it's crazy to have a phone without a microSD slot.

One thing is really missing from the endurance rating: GPS. Every phone dies in about 2 hours if they have a low power battery. Screen can be power efficient, processor can be power efficient, evan 4G can be power efficient in cities and well-covered areas, but GPS eats the battery in hours.

AnonD-667039, 21 Jun 2017The only thing keeping me from buying this phone right away... moreYou'll probably get a day from it with a moderate usage.
In terms of battery it's an average phone at most.
Surprisingly most people I see commenting on battery believe or like to believe the SD835 SOC runs on air.3300 is a small battery for a 5.5 device.

The only thing keeping me from buying this phone right away is the battery capacity - 3300mah for 2017 is paltry. There are midrange phones with 5000-6000mah, and I was hoping OnePlus 5 would be the first high-end SD 835 phone with 4000mah. Instead they made it the thinnest flagship (who cares how thin it is? that only hurts durability)

Lg g6 is much better option .. Better camera (no Ois in op5 lol), more durability, less bezel , water resistant, dac, better display which is not 1080p lol (using same display of last year model 3t), The most important NOT A COPY CAT OF APPLE The design as well as the camera lmao and many more in almost same price.

Every year they are just changing the soc name, I doubt there's marginal improvement, and my only concern is one plus is following apple footsteps, market the product as very good one but in reality its expensive and there's no big difference in the previous model. Then they didn't make the price move for years, as if they are luxury item. Mi 5 is a good choice, 200usd.

OnePlus 5 caught cheating in benchmark results, using the same old display as 3T. This hype needs to die.

Don't give better then others give different then others.
Do not buy any product by reviews. Companies can get reviews fabricated.
In my opinion softwear (OS) are more important then the hardwear when it comes to ease of using the phones utilities. One OS for many different hardware is a difficult task. OS system should get made according to the hardwear configuration.(vice versa)
One can not beat the pioneer and a scientific product by marketing gimmicks.
