Superb phone for it's price. No marketing apps that runs on the background like Samsung phones, so the 8GB RAM and 3700 mAh can be fully utilize. Simple yet elegant, everything about it runs smoothly. The only drawback for me is the 3.5mm jack not included but I was sure glad I did the brand switch to this phone. WORTH EVERY PRICE!

92Roadster, 21 Nov 2018I am torn between choosing the OnePlus 6T or the Samsung S8... moreOP6T is superior if you care about software

I am torn between choosing the OnePlus 6T or the Samsung S8 Active. I currently have a S6 active and it still looks and works like it did on day 1. I like the durability of the active models, but the 6T just looks like a superior phone tech-wise. So I'd like to hear opinions for and against to help me choose. Active has an SD Card slot capable of 512GB but 2GB less ram, Active has larger battery but what looks to be slower and older OS/chipset/CPU/GPU. Price is not a deciding factor.
In a nutshell, I am a family man who mainly uses his phone as, well, a phone. Never watched any movies on it, have watched a handful of youtube videos when really bored, have a handful of small simple games (like puzzles) to pass time periodically (nothing too complex) take pictures of my family and pets periodically as well, never really take any videos, I don't have social media so selfies and such never take place.

                  Looking forward to your thoughts!!

AlexP, 18 Nov 2018Super phone with underdisplay fingerprint. Cheapest SD845 p... more1. What about Pocophone F1? Galaxy S9? LG G7? Xperia XZ2? All of those are cheaper than the 6T if you use a tool to compare offers
                    2. Why should anyone with a phone from a proper brand be jealous for your Chinese phone? I know someone who is able to brag about everything, be it clothes, cars or tech. And even if he doesn‘t have any of it, he brags with things other people have. And that person has a OnePlus 6 and manages to brag with that as well. And you also seem like such a Person. And I can imagine other owners of OnePlus phones to be like that as well. Contrary to that, I don‘t know anyone who ever bragged with his iPhone or Galaxy S.
So just to clear it up: If you are poor, at least don‘t try to impress anyone with the few you got, it is just annoying to your surroundings.

Anyone who actually owns this. Remap your fingerprint in a completely dark room. This eliminates all exterior light and will help with faster unlocking. Also map the same finger twice so more of the fingerprint is saved. This phone is giving me 11+ hours screen on time and I am a heavy YouTube & social media person. I've bought wireless bullets for €50 with a referral code and they are decent, charge fast and last 8 hours. I don't miss headphone jack and I like the front in-display fingerprint scanner. No accidental fingerprints on camera sensor from missing the back fingerprint scanner like would happen on other phones. With fast charging, it makes wireless charging look even more of a gimmick that I wouldn't use so I don't miss it

Anonymous, 20 Nov 2018Hi guys, I want to buy a phone and I do not know what. Sams... moreSamsung.
Oneplus is no more what it used to be

I had first the OnePlus 6 which I gave to my wife and now I have a 6T. Comparing those I'm wondering if 6T it's an upgrade or downgrade (both have 8GB ram/256 GB internal memory):
                            - Both have the same hardware and performs the same.
                            - Camera performs the same (after the software update) and is good for the price range of the phone.
                            - Despite the fact that the notch is smaller on 6T , its form made it (ad least for me) more visible/annoying that the bigger one on OP6 (which I hide with one of the wallpapers included in Oxygen OS that is black exactly in the upper middle of the screen). I don't want to use the black bar hide so I'll probably import that wallpaper from OP6 to OP6T.
                            - there is no led notification, but there's a on-screen notification system so it's kind of like a trade here. I never bothered to use the led notification system so this is not an issue for me.
                            - The elephants in the room are finger scanner and jack removal:
                            a) The in-screen finger scanner is a nightmare to use. It's not only that is visible slower (it's a drawback, for sure, but not the end of the world), but, also, IT'S NOT RELIABLE. It fails to register the fingerprints in 7/10 times and in multiple occasions I had to draw the pattern because the phone locked itself after not recognizing the fingerprints (deleting the fingers and rescanning them don't solve the problem, also you are not allowed to register the same finger twice). On the contrast, the physical fingerprint scanner from the OP6 is the best I've ever used, very fast and reliable, it recognized my fingers EVERY time. So I ended up using the spot for fingers just to lit the screen that the Face id to kick of (Face id is great and is working perfectly).
                            b) Jack removal - I'm NOT an audiophile, I've barely used any headsets. Unfortunately, my car has an outdated Bluetooth media system that don't have the capabilities to play Bluetooth media. It was easy with the OP6, I've used Aux with jack to listen to music while driving and charging my phone that I was using as a navigation tool. To do the same (charge the phone in the car while using it as navigation) I had to buy an external Bluetooth battery based device that recognize media and have a jack to connect to Aux of my car's media system. It was not that expensive, but it was an extra purchase and felt like an Apple user (hihi). Of course, this is not an problem if the car have Bluetooth media capabilities.
                            - Battery: HUGE improvement on 6T to an already good battery so a big point for 6T here.
As a conclusion, for an extra 10 euro/usd/pounds more than OP6 you'll have a bigger battery capacity (400 mAh more), but also a crappy/unreliable/slow under display fingerprint sensor, no jack , no led notification and a notch that is more noticeable that the one on OP6 (despite being smaller, I repeat this). If the battery is what you are interested in, then the OP6T it's an update, otherwise it's clearly an downgrade that cost a bit more.

The display size is not the problem. It's the total dimension and size of the phone. The length should not be longer than 155mm!!! If phone is too long, you can't put inside your pocket freely!!! I care most about the size and battery life in a phone. Most phones have the same techs and features.
