RobinHood, 23 Apr 2020I think OnePlus 8 pro is the beast of Android devices. No o... moreI mean, unless you are actually playing games, speed is not the most relevant. It is important but there are other things to consider:
- Proper Dual 5G Support (that will arrive at some point via OTA)
- Multiple Vowifi/Volte support (not just for a few networks and this info is not even public)
- Proper UBC C PD support on top of Warp Charge (so not limited to 15W cause they only want to sell they hyper expensive chargers)
- Proper Technical support

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2020They have the price of an iphone but: 5G patchy - you do... more5G is "patchy" BECUASE it barely aviable anywhere. Ofc you will get poor reception as 5g is very limited with all 5g phones. Also vowifi is great on my OnePlus 7 pro and is not such a big feature in my opinion. The OnePlus 8 pro has better displays and cameras then both the phones you listed. Stop hating bruh.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Re: Dual-SIM capability
Anyone who is intending to purchase the OnePlus 8 Pro should be made aware of a recent posting on the OnePlus community site.
(1) The OnePlus 8 Series does NOT and WILL support dual 5G SIM, either now or in the future.
(2) Currently the OnePlus 8 Series does NOT support the following dual-SIM configurations (4G/5G ; 4G/4G). Support for these two configurations shall be made in a future OTA update.
So for now, until an OTA update becomes available, the OnePlus 8 is essentially a single SIM phone. That said, it shouldn't be too long until an update is made available.
I wouldn't be surprised if this oversight is corrected with the 8T version.
If the second SIM slot doubled up as a micro SD slot, this pain would have been more bearable. The wisdom of not incorporating SD card.

Realistic, 23 Apr 2020Well, just look how many VOLTE/VOWIFI does Samsung support ... moreso u will pay for mainstream brand that is basically asking over 1lakh INR (ultra) and almost 80K (s plus).. knowing that u r being ripped off with an inferior device with poor battery and performance.
good on you.

JNS, 23 Apr 2020True... It seems everyone wanted all the bells and whistles... moreWell, just look how many VOLTE/VOWIFI does Samsung support and then compare with Oneplus... of course I'm willing to pay 1000 euro to have volte and vowifi with almost any network in the world and not 1000 euros to have very limited support with oneplus? This is why people stick with mainstream brands.

People might pay for Samsung Galaxy S20 with Exynos (India) instead of going for this, just to protest one plus raising prices.

Nirosky, 23 Apr 2020That's your opinion. I grade phones by brand/quality/Spec a... moreThey made the market more competitive but no longer the case... At this price, it should be considered a premium device but lacking many features as compared to Samsung/Huawei/Iphone: Volte/Vowifi support which is a must in 2020
I don't care if they are a small producer or not, 1000 EUROS, they should have it

They have the price of an iphone but:
5G patchy - you don't even see the option (which exists on Mi 10 Pro and Samsung S20 Ultra)
Volte/Vowifi very limited vs competition
This is unacceptable in 2020.
Technical support limited AT Best
So the only thing that has improved so far it the price and their level of autism in listening to consumer. It's a joke.
Don't buy

egcg, 22 Apr 2020Will never pay $900 for a Chinese phone. That's your opinion. I grade phones by brand/quality/Spec and not by country or location.
As long as the phone has what I want I go for it.
Bear in mind Chinese phones have made the smartphone market more competitive. Cheers

I think OnePlus 8 pro is the beast of Android devices. No one catch up the speed the of OnePlus provided to it's devices however it will take some time to get all the apps optimized for OnePlus 8 pro!
