Question, 27 Apr 2021On the market for a new phone from Europe, bouncing between... moreThe snapdragon version is always better for gaming plus oneplus devices normally run a bit faster than the competition. For me it would be a no brainer.. Would be a harder choice if you could get the snapdragon galaxy s21 though. For the price the Samsung costs those exynos chips just aren't good enough.

I'm oneplus 8 pro user and won't grab this oneplus 9 pro to replace mu 8 pro. I don't like the design of 9 pro. i just missed the design of oneplus 3/3t and hope someday oneplus will use that design again with the full screen

So I got the OP9 Pro on the first day. And from the get go, I've had issues. First, I couldn't listen to voicemails unless I disable the phone's sensor. Second, the zoom out function had a black particle in the actual sensor, so I couldn't take photos without a black smudge on all my photos. Sent it back for repair, and it came back with a fully functioning camera but now I no longer have access to voicemail unless I call my own number. This is literally pathetic of OnePlus, it's essentially selling someone a car without validating that is can go in reverse. Anyone else test this out?

On the market for a new phone from Europe, bouncing between the s21 ultra and 9 pro.
I can go to a shop and buy the s21 ultra but it's the Exynos version. Have been seeing conflicting stuff about that saying it's sometimes better than the SD one and sometimes it's worst than SD one.
I can buy the 9 pro only online and the OnePlus site does not offer any reviews, Amazon does but all the 7 reviews it has about the phone are negative due to a defective phone or a charger or etc..
Do you guys think that I should go for the s21 despite the exynos processor?

OnePlus offers software support for three years from release, including two years of Android version updates and then a further year of security updates bimonthly. Samsung offers four years and Apple offers five for their respective phones, so OnePlus still has work to do.

No periscope lens? Im disappointed, ill stick to my OnePlus 8, and wait for periscope lens on OnePlus X. Look at the old Huawei p30 pro, old phone but with outstanding 5x optical zoom

Koki, 23 Apr 2021Woow Battery life 86h
Yes, unfortunately optimization in this device is worse than devices come from 10 years ago. Imagane if it had a 16nm chipset, lcd panel without ltpo feature and 3500 Mah battery, then its battery will be fully drained by 5 hours of normal use.
Many ODMs just buy and assemble parts of electric devices from reputed technology giants like Qualqomm and deceive people by price redution, but people should know hardware is one side of a good performance and satisfiying user experienceand the most important section is softwares and optimizations.

I finally upgraded my OnePlus 5T... and I think I'll come back to it... :(
Bluetooth connectivity is just not working. It keeps disconnecting. The audio starts playing at random. By itself. E.g. audiobook is playing when I don't want to.
The phone is not super smooth as they claim it to be. Google news keeps lagging while scrolling.
Battery performance is SUPER disappointing it barely last one day. While trekking I had to turn off connectivity to be confident that it will last the whole day.
Applications keep turning off for some reason.
The camera performance is disappointing. In low light performance, it's excellent, but on a bright day, it doesn't deliver sharp images of trees.
The front-facing camera has issues with brightness. While on zoom call in a bright environment it kept changing the brightness like crazy from dark to bright without me moving the phone (it was on the table).
Phone charging is fast... but ONLY when you are not using the phone. When you keep using the phone it charges very slowly.
The phone edges are ugly, and the original screen protector is not applied nicely (it's misaligned) and doesn't cover the whole phone. Also, that screen protector gets scratched super-easily. I'm not sure if they don't want me to take it out? The phone edges are not nice to touch - without bumper cover.
Buttons are super sharp and ugly. You just can't use the phone without the cover - it's not pleasant.
The back cover is beautiful in the light, but you will never see it when you have a bumper (which by the way it ULTRA ugly).
The phone had problems with over-heating (I think they fixed it already) in the bright sun.
Phone is very heavy. It's actually so heavy that it's uncomfortable to hold it. And still the battery is disappointing :(. I wouldn't mind it being so heavy - but not with this battery.
Flash doesn't work, when you don't have much battery.
Screen is not bright enough in strong sun conditions.
No notification light :(.
Good things?
Camera HDR is excellent! Really nice colors. Great performance at night.
Mobile phone is mostly fast (just not with the main screen).
Screen is sharp and with good colors.
Speakers are amazing. It actually has stereo which you can hear!
Overall - good for 600GBP but not for 829GBP... wait for sale.
