Sagar, 03 August 2022

OnePlus had scheduled an event in China today to unveil the Ace Pro. However, the company has now announced that it has postponed the launch event and related activities without specifying any reason or setting a new launch date.

This announcement from OnePlus comes after the US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi landed in Taiwan, increasing tensions between the US and China since the latter considers Taiwan as its territory.

OnePlus postpones today's Ace Pro launch event in China

OnePlus is not the only brand to cancel its launch event in China. Yesterday, Motorola also canceled its Razr 2022 and X30 Pro launch event. The Lenovo-owned brand neither provided the new launch date nor did it specify the reason for canceling the event. Although it could be due to growing tensions in the Asian region.

That said, while OnePlus has postponed its Ace Pro event in China, the company is proceeding with the unveiling of the OnePlus 10T, which is expected to be the Ace Pro for the international markets running OxygenOS instead of ColorOS. The event will begin at 2PM UTC today and will be live-streamed on OnePlus's official channels.

Pelosi's visit is already over. Since all the news headlnes in China, Taiwan, and generally East Asia are dominated by the visit some are postponing and rescheduling their launch events so it's not overshadowed by the visit.
