The ads to hype up this Nord certainly made this smartphone very popular. But some people is disappointed with the specs, i can understand that. TBH, i'm also eagerly waiting for this phone to launch, seen the live AR launch yesterday by another reviewer, and watch the hands on unboxing, to decide whether this phone would be my next phone. IMO, it's almost the perfect midranger, just like everyone else.
IMO:
Cons, no expandable storage, no 3.5mm jack and pill shaped front camera (i think those 3 are what most people disappointed with the phone).
Pros, 5G, OIS camera, smooth 90hz display, almost stock Android experience, AMOLED (screen burn in? anyone?).
Was guessing the price would be $350 for the 8/128gb version (to compete with the iPhone SE 2020), but it came out as RS27999 (roughly translates to $380 and the rough estimated price would be RM1799-2099.00 in Malaysia). In that price bracket, last year's SD855 flagship comes to mind. Yeah, 5G argument bla bla bla, IDK about other country, but i think our country is 5G ready yet in the next 2 or so years, especially in my place (even fiber internet takes years to be available here.) So there's that.
Don't get me wrong, for anyone that have the money and but don't want to dish out everything on a flagship 5G, this is still a good device to own (if you have the money for this, surely you can afford any decent TWS earphone, right?)
Lastly, i doubt my opinion matters, maybe i'm typing this because i'm one of those disappointed people. If there's no upcoming device that has more to offer (decently priced too, of course), maybe i still go for this Nord.
This is nice in a way tho', now i'm ready to be disappointed with the upcoming #whenwillitbeavailable? Pixel 4a. LMAO.

Realme X2 Pro is a much better option compared to this with 12GB RAM and SD855+ and Realme OS has got much better and closer to stock android with some useful overlays.

Size is considered reasonably compact for all the gigantic phones that are being pumped out.
Price is fair for what you get. People expecting a fluid OS without having to root/custom ROM with 865 for this price is dreaming. None of the OEMs will not bother. Only Google, Oneplus, and Motorola offers good enough barebone OS.
My two key complaints with the Oneplus Nord is 1) the stupid pill-shaped cutout...why not just save more by not adding a 2nd front camera. It'd probably sell more. The pill is too distracting. 2) why the ambient display is still so basic unlike Motorola or Samsung where you can interact with the notification?

Congrats to provide a highly anticipated phone but pls clarify
1. if it is a budget phone why remove 3.5 mm jack and if it is premium where is 800 series processor
2. Bombardier 6 camera setup is ok but we aspect atleast 3x zoom but you provide normal 1x zoom great, a Pixel phone with single camera is way better as compared to all your flagship phone. Pls. Improve your camera section
3. Apple provide flagship A13 processor in 399$ phone but you provide average 765 processor in the same price
4. Why ugly double punch hole l
5. In past you are looking different from other Chinese brand but nowadays you are following the same tradition "Higher quantity but least quality"..
We can say nothing is especial in this 400$ price phone bcos other good alternative are available in market.
