NEXT PHONE PLEASE!

The truth is that I just had to unbox and it's not that bad, it's just that the price should have been no more than 1,400 dollars

I hope that the Oneplus 12 is everything that the Pixel 8 Pro was not * 5 years of performances and 5 of patches and a price that does not exceed $1,200 and they will sell phones until they drop

Anonymous, 18 Oct 2023OnePlus is most known for being the easiest brand to unlock... moreIn Finland OnePlus is one of the most usual brands for non-tech sawwy people. In fact, even with the tech sawwier people, I dont anyone who bothers to mess with bootloaders. OnePlus are great phones although they've had some ups and down at different times. The Nord 2T and Nord 3 are probably the best bang-for-the-buck phones out there. That said, its those that are taking the market share where Im from, I dont know a lot of people who have the 600-1000€ phones from OnePlus

I don't really have a reason to use it, but I can see niche usecases (though more towards wireless power banks than wall chargers). Also, 50W wireless is still really good. One of my biggest complaints with my Google Pixel 7 Pro is the ridiculously slow charging, because I've had days where it didn't charge properly overnight for some reason and I had to charge it continuously throughout the day just to get to a high enough battery percentage. If I had a portable wirelessly-charging power bank that charged at 50W or higher, I'd definitely have a much better time.

If it was slower, I wouldn't use it either, but given that it's vivo and OnePlus we are talking about, they could've also clearly added 50W wireless charging especially for this price.

Pacobunny15, 18 Oct 2023Still no wireless charging? At this price point it's unacceptable, when phones for half the price have it, even some 300 usd phones do..

I really dont care what port it has a... moreand this is what shows your Apple blinkers - anything an iPhone can do, Android has been doing for 3+ years longer, all of the "new features" in iOS are all copied from previous versions of Android, and have been for about 4-5 years (basically since Tim Cook took over and after Steve died)

can you do it with a hotspot? yes, after setup a one button press in the quick settings
can you do it with bluetooth? yes, after setup a one button press in the quick settings
can you do it with USB tethering? yes, just turn it on in the network settings
can you do it with ethernet tethering? yes, if you plug in a USB-C to ethernet adapter
can you get devices with 2 SIMs so you make calls on one and use data on the other? yes, and you have been able to for years

if you don't care that Apple is using 10 year old technology in their LATEST PHONE, then you'll be happy with an iPhone, because you're clearly happy using older functionality, and using a wired network connection is old functionality too

hotspots are secure if setup properly with WPA encryption, and you can even setup data limits so you don't accidentally use up GB of data by watching a video (although not on an iPhone), and you can set it up as a 2.4GHz or 5GHz network if you want to

if you're happy to pay $1k for a phone that you're only going to use as a modem, then you're throwing so much money down the drain it's laughable - a $100 Android will do everything you need for tethering, although it won't have iMessage, AirDrop, etc, but if you don't use those features, why pay for them???

so expensive and it doesn't have a cabled video output via USB. A la DeX. I think it's an useful and underrated feature. Even middle range phones should have it
