The 300 % volume thing is more like a gimmick, even at 300% volume, the sound didnt get that loud at all. Only reached 89 decibel, which is a normal loudness level for an average smartphone. So it wasnt really that helpful in a noisy environment.

Helio G85 in 2023? At $150 price range? I would rather choose Snapdragon 680 instead.

Too overpriced i guess, having only a Helio G85 at this price point they should've just upgraded to G95 or G99 since those were the appropriate processors at this price range. Feels like a shame since you can find phones having Helio G85 with less than $100 while this phone costs $140 you're paying extra $40 dollars for a thing that doesn't even have any difference compared to cheaper phones.

you have to suffer, 29 Nov 2023and one more point, virtual ram does not do anything but bo... moreThe Redmi Note 11 a better buy than the Oppo A96? Well a new Redmi is $684, my A96 was just $349. The Redmi has 6GB of RAM, my Oppo has 8GB. I almost never use the camera so I don't care about it, and my screen is not Amoled but it's just fine for my purposes. It's bright and clear and all I need. So no, the Rn11 is not better bang for your buck.

you have to suffer, 29 Nov 2023and one more point, virtual ram does not do anything but bo... morelol You are not impressing anyone with all your 'tech talk'. And the fact that you continue to go on about spec's tells me you've missed my main point entirely. The fact remains that these Oppo models are fantastic phones for the price, serving the needs more than adequately for the majority of the population who couldn't care less whether their screen is 720p or 1080p wide. They are fit for purpose and readily replaced if they get lost or broken without breaking the bank.

A96 is still expensive to this day. how is it good value for money.. is it because of the "oppo glow" full of glitter design? 🤭🤭 even that phone has the similar specs as redmi note 11, except no amoled, no ultrawide not even macro. just main and useless auxiliary lens. and 2x more the price of rn11. my opinion on buying phones is to look for bang for the buck devices. where they offer more hardware features at reasonable price.

you have to suffer, 30 Sep 2023majority of oppo and vivo users are mostly teenagers or old... moreOne more point. You suggest that salespeople will push someone into buying a cheap model phone. Don't salespeople generally push people into buying the more expensive item availalbe? To make a better sale? It's not actually logical that a salesperson would 'push' someone into buying a cheap phone. So yes, unfortunately your argument makes no sense.

you have to suffer, 30 Sep 2023majority of oppo and vivo users are mostly teenagers or old... moreI am an Oppo user and I've been so impressed with my Oppo that I've just bought one for my mother too. And I'm not a teenager or old, and I'm acutely aware of phone specifications. Having a degree in Electronic engineering and working in the field causes one to become well aware of device specifications. The Oppo A38 and the Oppo A96 I can tell you for fact are amazingly good value phones, not 'crappy' at all. They perform seamlessly, have all the features most people want, have great screen brightness and resolution, are very responsive, have a good warranty, look great, and for those not wanting a big heavy phone, they're light weight. You make the mistake of believing that everyone wants to take professional quality photos using their phone, which they don't, and that everyone needs the best quality chipset on the planet for gaming and high resolution video streaming, which they also don't. The vast majority of people, such as myself and my mother, are happy with a phone that is simply reliable, responsive, and functional. Primarily being used for texting, calling, location determination, maps, and some internet searching. For anything more than that many of us prefer to use a laptop or similar. And in my mother's case, having carpel tunnel syndrome in her hands, she requires a phone that is as light weight as possible, and so a phone using primarily plastic for construction over glass and metal, is ideal. The $200 price tag also makes sense for most people who know that at some point they will drop their phone on the ground, and would prefer not to suffer damage to a $2000 device from one simple slip. For anyone considering buying an Oppo A38 or A96, I highly recommend them, they are absolutely fantastic phones for the average user. Note that the RAM expansion software in these Oppos effectively doubles the available RAM from 4GB to 8GB in the case of the A38 and can increase it from 8GB up to 13GB of RAM in the case of the A96. Also, both have storage space of 128GB, not 64GB as suggested in this thread. No, I'm not a salesman for Oppo, I just like people to have fair, accurate and objective information available.
