Anonymous, 21 Aug 2023I have no problem with overheating and i can play games wery wellIt also depends on where you live. Here in Austria we're having temps like 38 degrees Celsius, this affects battery life and is one of the reasons the device overheats. Not only the Find X5 though. My iPhone 11 and my laptop is also getting hot. Let's see how it performs in Winter.

As a workaraound i turned on the super energy saving mode, and the heating and battery draining stopped. It helps to reduce anger.
I hope the next update will fix the problem.

That's why I got a Oppo Find X5 as it was really cheap when I got it, I'm currently still using it as my main phone. Despite the bad battery life and some overheating problems, this phone is excellent. Dropped it several times and there's not even a single scratch on the display or the frame. But yeah, the battery charges in just 30 min to full, this makes up for the bad battery life. Overall, it's a good phone with two major issues, but still, it's great.

I get around 6h SoT with the lightest usage ever, a tiny bit shopping on Amazon, took 4 pictures (phone gets hot automatically), a lot of WhatsApp (texting only - when the keyboard is showing on the screen, it drops down the refresh rate to 60Hz so keep that in mind), some YouTube (25-30 min background playback only).
Did you delete or disable any system apps? I disabled some of them, because I never need them and they're usually drain the battery a lot. (Like Quick-Device-Connect..)
It's a great device which gets bad thanks to the SD 888. Hate it.

I don't know what's everyone talking about, for me it gets some heat with camera and so, yeah, but here it is like 30 degrees celsius so it is expected.
Battery wise and smoothness are perfect, no lag, no stutter, even better than my Pixel 6 Pro, battery life is amazing too, averaging 6-8h all days, phone lasts day and half easy and charges in 40 mins. I factory resetted after color os 13.1 as it was my first time with the phone (second hand), simply flawless.

After updating to ColorOS 13.1, I got these problems. It's so buggy.. I'm reporting all the issues but they're not really doing something about it.

Emre, 08 Jul 2023Is your phone overheating when the camera is being used? I ... moreNo. Not at all. Just works fine when using camera & the battery is not affected holds up well. The only time my phone overheated was when I run CPU throttling test for 1h straight that's it.
Clearly Oppo is doing some shady stuff with software updates.

I'm living in Austria and I have to send it out to Germany, it's gonna take a while and I can't wait for more than 2 weeks. (This is the usual time they do the repairs)

Using... moreI think you should visit an Oppo service center to revert back to factory settings Color OS 12.1 Android 12 if possible. It's pathetic when OEMs do such things. Now I'll be stack with old OS in fear of planned obsolescence. Custom ROMs are better now Oppo/OnePlus locks everything. My next phone will be a Google Pixel inorder to be able to install a custom ROMs like Graphene OS or Evolution X to avoid planned obsolescence when an OEM try to break the phone deliberately with software updates it's a shame really.

Using the device with mobile data literally drains the battery flat in 3-4h, which is ridiculous. And of course, it heats up as well. Never upgrade your device to ColorOS 13.1. It's filled with bugs alongside broken thermal management.

The device gets really hot, and it gets extremely hot while using the camera and lags afterwards. Can you try it out on A12? You were on Android 12 afaik..
