I just received this phone, however, it has a few minuses compared to my old honor magic 6 pro:
there is no desktop mode which is a shame
phone is randomly overheating with no reason
there is no customization for AOD, you have around 10 type of designs are that's it, and I think this is really a bad thing
the front camera unlock is slow compared to the Honor Magic 6 pro due to the missing ToF front camera sensor
there is a lot of bloatware that can be removed
The camera button sometimes works slow
low resale value, after 1 year, I can sell this device with a 60% loss

Cuz it's got the latest and greatest tech (whether you think it is or not) and there's a bunch of unnecessary stuff in there inflating the price to a grand! If you want a great value phone that's enough for everything you do get a 500 Dollar midranger, they're pretty neat.

Meh, I honestly think that a flip foldable, like the Z Flip6 or maybe the Oppo Find N3 Flip (or whichever flip that has some better video quality) are pretty good options for vlogging, as you can use the cover display to aid you while using the rear cameras, and that would give you much better video quality, with the rear cameras

Living in China, I went to buy a new phone, and was a choice between this device, Vivo X200, and Oneplus 13. The display quality was what got me to buy this phone.
The display is just absolutely brilliant, with high pwm, great PPI, no colour shift on angle, and amazing calibration. If you're worried about "low resolution", it is not noticeable because PPI is at 450.
The battery life is the best I have seen on any phone ever - it gets me through 2 days of heavy usage, 3 days if I am only browsing social media, without any games. I prefer to charge with a 25W charger over night, rather than the in box one, unless in a hurry.
Camera is the issue for me because I cannot tell if it is good or not. The photos coming out of this phone are Instagram ready, but a lot of times the camera lies immensley. It will play with exposure and colours to give you a pleasing image rather than what it actually sees in real life. I understand that most people would prefer this, but if I had to choose one phone for the camera, it would still be the Vivo X200 Pro.
Speakers do not have a powerful low end, but they have a very clear low end where you can easily separate all the instruments when listening to music. There was no distortion at high volume. The BT audio playback has finally been tweaked to the point where it is really good and detailed right now. Same as the speakers, the BT playback leans more towards a well balanced, detailed sound, rather than the bass heavy consumer profile.
The addition of the alert slider and the shutter button are a brilliant bonus. The phone is lighter than expected and very, very easy to handle, even one-handed.
The software is lightning fast, but it is a bit rough when it comes to presenting a unanimous experience for the user. There is no proper colour palette, and the design is really all over the place. And yet, they still put the 5G switch in the developer options, for some reason. The performance itself is a no-brainer. This chipset chews through everything with no thermal issues.
