This phone is utterly useless. To much hype for nothing, tested for a month and could not get used to anything on it.

Will the GSM version of this phone ever be released? I have been patiently waiting for this phone in the Mid East and I don't think i can wait any longer. Palm What's going on? Lets go!!

You know, I thought your post a little weird, surely this ridiculous delay with the Pre over here can't really be a conspiracy can it? Then I looked at the O2 website and noted just how much of it is geared towards the Iphone. It's so dedicated to the cult of the Iphone that if you want to send them an e-mail about anything at all, even to ask what time it is, you have to answer the question 'Do you have an Iphone?'
With that type of investment in it, I guess it would cost them a lot to change their entire company focus, so maybe you are right after all. What are the odds that the Pre is mysteriously delayed until after Christmas to allow O2 to squeeze every last drop out of the Iphone....

The only thing i wanted was video which it is getting, by that internet and operation has been fairly well.

o2 haven taken it as they have to share the iphone 3g with orange. even tho they have the 3gs exclusively they still want the top end mobiles exclusively

O2 in the UK are so worried that this is going to outshine the iphone, that they have signed exclusive rights to it so no other network will get it in the UK.... If they are worried, then it must be good ?

I'm in the States, & have had my Pre for about 2 weeks now. The App catalog is almost non-existent, & what is there is pretty buggy. My main issue, though, is that it frequently can't find my network when I'm in the middle of an urban area. My friends on the same network will have 3 or 4 signal-strength bars, & my Pre thinks it has to be on Roaming. The only fix I've found is to do a re-boot, which on this phone takes forever! I do like the phone very much, but it definitely has some issues. Probably what I deserve for getting a 1st-generation product!

Two major turndowns. No video and no expansion. Hope they solve those issues. And so much for a wait is cooling down expectation.

i wouldnt go for the iphone, that for sure... palm pre looks pretty cool... have a look at the HTC Hero... cool also.. not sure about the samsung omnia... i prefer Pre or Hero :P good luck!

Hi all, want a phone that does all...am thinking of the Iphone 3GS,,,but then read about this one and saw videos of the cool OS this has...also read on OMNIA which looks pretty decent...and got myself condused in the process :)...anyone..pl tell me which one to go for the main spec required being a smart touchscreen phone...thanks a bunch

I am a Palm fan as I have been using Palm PDAs since the times when notebooks / laptops were beyond the reach of most enthusiasts. When info about Pre came on the Net I felt here was a phone worth owning. Though I swear by Nokia E series, I’d prefer the Pre to be my first switchover. However, people at Palm seem less curious about Asia / India – a big mistake perhaps. You have to enter this market if you want t make a mark worldwide.
Palm has an impeccable product in Pre. Just market it right.
