For Peter... exactly what is missing from it? Check out the specs? If you have, you won't be disappointed. When is it available? We're working really hard on it - please bear with us... patience *IS* a virtue, and the *BEST* things do come to those that wait... ;-)
Seriously, we're entering the final stages of development and tweaking - I've been using my prototype handset for several weeks now, and am convinced that the core part is ready to ship. The GPRS performance is simply outstanding.
Panasonic phones may be later to the market than some other manufacturers, but are well worth it when they arrive. Please check it out - you'll be glad you did.

Daniel, I work for Orange UK, and we'll be launching this phone, end of Oct 2002. No idea of price yet, but only obtainable on pay monthly.. Hope this helps..

It *DOES* have Java. It *DOES* have IrDA. It is *NOT* a Japanese product. It *DOES* support Java. As for Charles_Yu87 - please understand what you are asking, before asking it. Now, sorry people, but I've got some GD87 code to write... (yes, I do have one here, and yes, I do work for Panasonic on the GD87 Core Layer 3 team...)

Panasonic rocks!!! This is another quality phone from Pana with a lot of functions. Think about the useful functions and forget the gadgets. I just bought a GD75 but one day I'll buy a GD87!!! Panasonic forever!

I borrowed a dev GD87 handset for a few day. It was amazing, this phone is really good and fun to use. Best colour screen I have ever seen.
