My first mobile phone, bought in 1999. Sat on a hilltop, rang somewhere 300 miles away and laughed out loud with pleasure! Neat, solid, felt great in the hand and worked perfectly, a great friend. Still have it tucked away in a drawer.

Had one, loved it. Don't now if it is still working. Send it to Africa and hope that the present owner still enjoyes it. Mind you it was still in good quality when i did.

it was a great phone, I bought one in 2000, 3 years after his release. He served me 4 years and he did a hell of a job...I'm not kiddin.I still have him , but it's not working, I'm keeping just because he was a small part in a generation when mobile phones were just phones not stupid gadgets like now days.

My first ever mobile phone, which I still think about with fondness.

It did what it said on the tin - phoned and texted. Never crashed or locked up like a modern phone - was an absolute brick (in the best way possible)

Still have it in a box somewhere and still remember its phone number! Yeah, I know I'm sad!

My very first cell phone. I was just 12 years old when i got this phone (1998), really loved this phone, simple yet effective, used it for just over 4 years, never had a problem with it, still have it boxed up somewhere. 10/10

It's trully the very first definition of a moblie, only messaging and calling, not even a game is there.I think with all the new technology coming in few years it's gonna earn a spot in some museums in developed countries

OK, I got this phone as a gift for applying for a Barclaycard when I was a University Student. My friend applied for one too & she told me not to register it immediately as Barclaycard send you out a 2nd one! So this is what we both did. I gave one to my son and kept one for myself. It was on BT Cellnet (they were later taken over by 02) on a very expensive tariff called "Easylife" which worked out at about 50p per minute to make a call to any UK network or UK landline. When you got it via Barclaycard, you could only top up with your Barclaycard at a minimum of £20 a time, vouchers from the shops would not work, even proper 'easylife' vouchers. Let's face it, it was definitely a "brick" but I was quite proud that I actually had a mobile! This was an expensive phone to run and the top-ups were hefty. Nowadays I'm with the Virgin Mobile network and top-ups on Pay As You Go are from as little as £5.

My first phone, gave it to my parents when I got a new one. After many years of service it earned a spot on a toilet where it's been nailed on the wall!:D

What a sad and nasty stunt for o2 to pull on people!

My gran uses one of these phones as its the only one she finds easy to use, and its on o2.

I work in the mobile retail industry and all i can say is that this is yet another way of o2 upgrading (swiping money)!

Now that the DIGA phones cannot be used in UK, what is the best way for the environment of disposing of them?

Will the battery chargers be of any use for any other device?

This Phone will stop working on the 30th of may 2006,so thats very soon! Iv'e been advised that you can go to an O2 shop and find out if you are entitled to an upgrade. So dont be suprised when it doesnt work any more,i hope thats been a help to you.I own one of these mobiles and overall its a bit of a bric and its very old fashioned. If all you want is a device which allows you to communicate with someone far away then this phone is perfect for you!

This is a classic, if you have ever had one of these fall out of your pocket under the wheels of a moving taxi and still work you will know what i am talking about.
