Poco X7 (Global) review
HyperOS 1.04
The Poco X7 runs on HyperOS 1.04 and Android 14, unlike the X7 Pro, which comes with the Android 15-based Hyper OS 2.
If you come from an older MIUI-powered Xiaomi, you will feel right at home with HyperOS. The software isn't much different from the last few iterations of MIUI, but it does appear to be more polished, and Xiaomi claims some under-the-hood optimizations as well.
Regarding software support, Xiaomi promises at least three major OS updates for the X7 and X7 Pro and 4 years of security updates.
We've covered the Xiaomi UI extensively in our detailed HyperOS review and most of the features you'd see there are available on the Poco as well. However, keep in mind that there's still some feature disparity across different Xiaomi devices, and Poco phones have always had their own software quirks compared to the rest of the Xiaomi phones.
The gap has narrowed over the years, though, and there are only some trivial changes in the Poco variant of HyperOS. For instance, Poco smartphones have the app drawer enabled by default, and you can double-tap an empty space on the home screen to lock the device.
Circle to search and Google Gemini also work well onboard.
Performance and benchmarks
The Poco X7 is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset, manufactured using a 4nm manufacturing process. The CPU has 4x 2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 cores and 4x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores, while the GPU is the Mali-G615 MC2.
The X7 supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. We have the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage version.
The Poco X7 provides adequate performance for the class, and there is a slight increase in the GPU performance over the Poco X6's.
The Poco X7 scored 78% on the CPU and 99% on the GPU stress test, which means it offers excellent sustained performance. It never got hot during our stress test.
The Poco X7 can handle various apps and games very well, but let's not forget this is a mid-range device and hardware, so you can expect average game performance, nothing more, nothing less. We didn't experience any lag or stutters during our time with the Poco X7.

This main cam is exactly the same, as on the new Poco M7 Pro - so for a 200 bucks phone, the cam is acceptable, but not on a 300-400 Poco X7, seriously.

Compare the new Xiaomi phones with HyperOS crap with the older generation Xiaomi bestseller phones. The old generation xiaomi phones never had any battery issues because they all use MIUI software which is clean and fast compared to the bloated Hyper...
