Jazz21, 01 May 2020I was planning to buy this phone next month but I was think... moreRazer already essentially decided to exit the mobile phone market fall of last year. So the Razer Phone 2 is it. For what it's worth, the phone has been a sweet mix of speed and great display for me.

I wish more companies used these kinda screens in their flagships... high-ref ips is just too good, better than oled.

Since Razer states that they won't have a 5G-ready phone this year, might I recommend:

      Razer Phone Lite:
Mediatek Helio G95 (modified version of G90 with better GPU for UFS 3.0, Blutetooth 5, and Dolby Vision codec)
Full GSM/CDMA (yes, even for Sprint/China Mobile)
      LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/11/12/13/14/17/20/21/25/26/28/29/30/34/38/39/40/41/42/46/48/66/71
      Wifi: a/b/g/n/ac/ax
      Bluetooth: 5.0 with AptX
      All GPS profiles

Body: Aluminum chasis (maybe with TPU internals) with satin finish; advanced cooling system for both the processor and battery.

Display: 5.5" Full HD (2160x1080) Sharp IGZO LCD panel (16:9 ratio) with 120Hz refresh rate/240Hz touch sampling, HDR10+/Dolby Vision certified with codecs for Netflix/Prime Video

      Storage: 8GB RAM/128GB ROM UFS 3.0, LPDDR4X

Audio: Front-firing Dolby Atmos THX speakers; Headphone Jack with 24-bit DAC; OR a 2nd Type-C port for headphones or Type-C to HDMI. Dolby Atmos software included

Camera: Triple cam in the back (48MP SONY IMX with OIS, 16MP Exmor Ultra-Wide angle, 5MP Macros OR Monochrome for better night shots). 12MP IMX Selfie; Dual LEDs, and 4K@60fps video recording.

Battery: 5,000 mAH battery with 21W wired charging and 10W reverse OTG charging.

Other stuff: Fingerprint reader on the side, Hybrid Dual-SIM (minimum), Nova Launcher Prime, Android One program OR releasing the kernel/source codes for easy rooting and ROM-development, Facial Recognition, Shoulder Capacitive Touch Triggers.

All for the only price of $500.

At least try to make this happen Razer please.

In case Razer ever graces us here, this is what they need if they wanted to give us ONE FINAL phone:

                  Razer Phone 3:
Snapdragon 865 with X60 chip for EPIC 5G connectivity with mmWave and sub 6-GHrz
Full GSM/CDMA (yes, even for Sprint/China Mobile)
                  LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/14/17/20/21/25/26/28/32/34/38/39/40/41/42/46/48/66/71
                  Wifi: a/b/g/n/ac/ax
                  Bluetooth: 5.1 with AptX
                  All GPS profiles

Body: Aluminum chasis (maybe with TPU internals) with satin finish; advanced cooling system for both the processor and battery. IP67 with MIL-STD-F (minumum)

Display: 6.0" 4K (FULL 3840 x 2160) Sharp IGZO LCD panel (16:9 ratio) with 120Hz refresh rate/240Hz touch sampling, HDR10+/Dolby Vision certified with codecs for Netflix/Prime Video

                  Storage: 8GB RAM/256 GB ROM; 12 GB/512 GB ROM; UFS 3.1, LPDDR5

Audio: Front-firing Dolby Atmos THX speakers; Headphone Jack with 32-bit DAC (24 works too); OR a 2nd Type-C port for headphones or Type-C to HDMI. Dolby Atmos software included

Camera: Triple cam in the back (48MP SONY IMX with OIS, 16MP Exmor Ultra-Wide angle, 13MP Telephoto OR Monochrome for better night shots). 16MP IMX Selfie with 8MP Ultra-wide selfie cam) with Dual LEDs, PDAF, and 4K@60fps video recording.

Battery: 6,580 mAH battery (can totally rip this from the Blackview BV9800) with 15W wireless charging and 25W wired charging and 10W reverse OTG charging.

Other stuff: Fingerprint reader on the side, Hybrid Dual-SIM (minimum), Nova Launcher Prime, Android One program OR releasing the kernel/source codes for easy rooting and ROM-development, Facial Recognition, Shoulder Capacitive Touch Triggers.

All for the lovely starting price of $750 ($825 for the 512GB version). This would kill the Galaxy S20 5G version, OnePlus 8, Xperia 1 Mark 2 and EVEN the ROG 2 phone in a heartbeat.

                  Make it happen Razer...please.

Im having problem when i use sd card as a internal memory. The photo always shows doubled. And even if you transfer it to sd card, your internal memory still the same. 64 GB internal menory is so small. As the phone already consumes 16GB for its built in apps. Hope they will fix this on rp3.

I've used the razerphone 2 for 1 month on heavy usage so far. It was definitely an upgrade from an iPhone 7plus. The 120hz is vivid, battery life is as good as 4000 Mah goes and can last a full day unless you're on it for hours. The charger charges rapidly, heat is always distributed evenly when gaming. The only suggestion I have is more frequent software roll outs and implement an easy way to kill useless processes running via Cortex.

The phone is great, but only when it works! I wish I knew before I bought one that quality control and tech support are so awful that I wish I could have returned the phone. Here's what you can expect from tech support:

I got a replacement phone under warranty that had more problems than the original, but finally got a working one after a month and a half of no phone and 10+ hrs back and forth with support. The tech support representatives themselves are nice and do as much as they can to help, but unfortunately they don't have much power and communication between different departments that handle your case seems to be very poor. If your phone needs to be replaced, the timeframe is 2-3 weeks and often takes longer than that. In my experiences, status updates are only provided when I contacted tech support myself. The tech support representative will ask other departments for updates and other questions and promise an email with the answers within 24-48 hours, a promise that often goes undelivered. You will likely have to ask again and wait another 24-48 hours to get emailed again, and so on. Escalting and expediting the issue doesn't seem to help. The wireless charger I also got was faulty as well and needed to be replaced. It has been stuck in a limbo where the item is "received" but hasn't "arrived" at the warehouse, whatever that means. If you really want to get this phone and run into issues, I suggest documenting every issue you encounter carefully as well as your correspondence with tech support. I would say to ask for a supervisor if your issues don't get resolved because they have more power, but even though they can expedite the process, they communicate slowly by email (remember the emails not getting delivered and waiting 48 hours problem?), so it can even take longer. Besides email, the majority of support is over live chat. If you try hard enough, you might get to talk to someone over the phone, but most of the time it isn't worth the wait.

Hope this info can help anyone who doesn't know what they could potentially be signing up for!

this phone is what you called perfection.
i absolutely love what Razer did on this phone.
been using this phone for 6 months, and never had any issues, i kinda disappointed that they didn't apply jack on this phone, but aside from that, this phone just really perfect, the minimalist design, the size, they didn't imply that cringey notches shit, and this phone is also the first smartphone that has 120hz refresh rate, i mean after the previous razer phone, which is give a lot of impact to future smartphone screens, what makes me fall in love more to this phone, it's because the stock software still in oreo, which is it'll allow you to customize the software freely, with a lot of supported modules, make the custom rom is really easy to find
probably not gonna buy another smartphone until razer released the Razer phone 3.

this phone has considerate every aspect for gaming...if u want beauty phone beauty cam well Razer Phone is out of count. but talk bout gaming specs? Razer Phone is the correct answer. Ram 8g, Snapdrag845 (razerphone2), best heat spread cooling system, IGZO sony IPS screen (IPS screen good for long time ON screen display, amoled easily get burnt examp: samsung screen since note 5 until note 10, perhaps, the problem is the same), dolby atmos, 4000mah its reguler for gaming nowadays but battery use depends on apps and games installed on ur phone, and other good feature(nfc,120 hz...). one thing that will make me leave Razer phone 2 ..is the upcoming(?) of Razer phone 3. built in snapdragon 865, 144hz, high res cam (64mp) real photo not interpolation, better cooling system, gorilla glass 6 body, nfc, dolbyatmos, and other superb gaming specs. wish Razer creator read this :(
