Realme321GO, 04 Jun 2020So if I understand correctly
1) Backup static files (.doc... moreHi, for your questions
1) yes those backed up apps will be installed when you restore realme back up
2) good
3) correct , Realme backs up almost all apps
4) yes
Question:
1) I am not familiar with 2FA tokens. I mainly use google pay and other banking apps for transactions.I also do not use Google Authenticator. However you can create a backup of all those tokens and other files related to these apps. It would be better if you sign in again after reset. You may have to sign in again with Google Authenticator.
2) Most of the apps (example Whatsapp) use internal memory
3) no
4) You can try
a) reset system settings only (basic reset so try it first )
b)erase downloaded apps and their data (more comprehensive)
or
c)erase all data(actual factory reset)
Try in the order . I mainly do 'factory reset' as i do not have many apps.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2020Are you on version C.10?I loved the phone before new update after the update and getting the latest android 10 version every other feature is good but the only issue is the fast battery draining when I keep my mobile at night and then when I wake up 30-40% of the battery is gone which wasn't like this before the new update, only 1 -2% was consumed at standby mode in nights.
Please help me resolving this issue.

So if I understand correctly
1) Backup static files (.doc / .pdf. / .mp3 / etc. / .APK to reinstall side-load style after reset )
2) use Google Backup (I already do always)
3) use Realme back up and restore (some Applications but NO app data), Personal Data (Contacts, Messages and more) and System Data (System Settings, Clock and more).)
4) Do some sort of reset
Question:
1) How do I restore my Authenticator and Authy apps with all the 2FA tokens they generate for finance apps, after they are reinstalled? These are needed to log back into my personal finance apps , and others ... I have about 6-10 different apps that use 2FA using these apps
2) How do I check which apps are using external storage as the default place to store their files/datbases ? Like WhatsApp , etc. Is there a default setting somewhere ? I can't find it
3) Is there any other step I can take to back up even more things before doing a factory reset and restore ?
4) Is there any advantage at all to doing the more supecificial resets , rather than a full comprehensive reset ?
thanks again

Khan, 04 Jun 2020Yes ... personally i love this phone and brand too.. almost... moreIt is true that some users are facing issues. May be you could restart the device a few times or clear the junk files. Also check battery settings if any particular app is causing battery drain. Also clear the cache. Also check ram usage.

Realme321GO, 03 Jun 2020Thanks ! I am in Mexico so unfortunately any sort of in-per... moreimportant- please copy all necessary files(like .pdf, documents etc) from internal memory to SD card before factory reset.
So first you must create a new backup and see its size. Remember your messages , call history, contacts and other system setting will be saved.
As an additional step you can also use backup option in 'google' in settings menu.

Realme321GO, 03 Jun 2020Thanks ! I am in Mexico so unfortunately any sort of in-per... moreHi, you can select the back up and restore option in additional settings and create a 'new back up' , which will backup all your apps(without their app data), contacts , messages etc. You will get the option to back up either to internal or external memory.
You should select External memory(SD) as the internal memory will be wiped during factory reset.
If you have access to a laptop or computer you can move or copy your 'back up' there temporarily as you said your SD card do not have much space.
Removing SD during factory reset is safe, you can take it out in order to avoid any data loss and put it back after reset.
In my opinion realme backup option is safe as you are keeping your data in your phone or computer.
You can also use realme cloud option called 'Heytap cloud' (in settings menu), but i never use it.
While factory resetting all erase option is better.
One more thing there is an app called 'realme community' which is available in playstore. In this app there is an option to chat with customer service executive so that you can clear your doubts. Please check whether this app is available in your region.
important thing is that factory reset is only an option and only try it if you have some time to spare.

Here are photos of the options that are available to me as far as back up and restore on my Realme 3 , perhaps you can guide me on which option is optimal ?
I will try to move all my important apps to SD card although it'll likely require clearing up a lot of space on my SD card that isn't currently available, and some apps don't allow being moved to SD card ? But I really only have several really important ones
Would you recommend removing the SD card from the phone prior to doing an eventual factory reset of any kind ? Or keep it in ?

Factory Reset Options --- I see 5 options , how do you rank them from minimally to maximally invasive / restorative? Which option can I expect to actually reinstall the whole OS so hopefully GPS only mode will go back to normal , speed will pick up again , less lag , faster bootup time of camera app, etc.

Realme321GO, 03 Jun 2020So what's the best software to backup ALL apps ALL settings... moreJust do a normal backup and restore and see if the issue persists. U can backup contacts, messages, call history, wifi settings, weather settings and other system settings etc through the phone.
As for apps, you will lose the app settings and will be only able to backup .apk files. So that you don't have to download them(if you have lots of apps) from playstore. Only the .apk files will be backed up which means you can install the backed up app(for example whatsapp), but you will have to login again and restore whatsapp data from google drive.
There are apps for backing up app data like titanium backup, migrate etc but all these require root.
No brand(Samsung, xiaomi Realme, sony etc) provides app data backing up. In Miui it was possible before(Miui 9) but now it is not possible.
I think every brand should have the option to backup everything(including app data) in their UI.
The options for you are-
1) Do a normal factory reset after backing up meassages, contacts , settings , apps(.apk only) and restore everything from back up. You can create backup in SD card. You will have to install every single third party app(facebook, whatsapp) from the back up and will have to sign in again. This may solve the lagging.
2) Wait for next update from Realme(it will take a month or two)
3) Visit/contact Realme service centre/customer service(if nearby) and tell them to rectify the issue.
I would really like to help you, otherwise i won't bother writing this long essay and waste my time.

A... moreSorry for late reply i also have 4/64GB version and as i told you before , i am not an expert like you in gcam modes. I am using it as the nightsight is working. Haven't tested the marlin version. It is good to have the latest gcam port for our device.
In your case, you should keep on trying to find the best .xml and keep checking the telegram groups. The devs in telegram groups are even testing custom rom for realme 3(little late because of chipset).

Anonymous, 31 May 2020You don't know anything dude all claims made by you were falseI've shared over a hundred facts about this phone in past year. What claim did you find to be false?
If it's about people facing bugs in last update, I'll remind you that no Android or iPhone is safe from bugs in updates. Realme 3 is one of the most stable/bug-free Android phones in budget segment. It also has one of the least complaints you'll find in reviews, flagships included.
You can try to prove me wrong by giving example of other phones.
It rarely gets any bug and all of them are usually minor or easily fixed by Realme or users themselves. Unlike other budget phones like Redmi Note 7 with constant weak signal bug, poor battery bug, display bug, low performance, over heating bug.
Ask RN7 users. They've been asking to fix them ever since that phone came out.

And 3,32GB or 4,64GB?
I've P60 4,64GB. Nightsight works great but those configs didn't work good for my selfie camera. Slowmo didn't work either. I applied my own .xml on it from marlin_test version which fixed colours but selfie details/clarity weren't good.
I don't think it's best Gcam for Realme 3.
onFire 4th form or marlin_test were best for Realme 3 in my research. 4th form also has slowmo issue, so Marlin_test is overall best. It has best quality, edge detection and slowmo works but I feel that 4th form lags less.

Anonymous, 29 May 2020Did you download two .Xml files given in that telegram gro... moreI usually test Gcam from Celsoazevedo. They rarely Configs for Realme 3 so I make my own. I made a pretty good one for onFire Marlin test one.
And I've noticed many Gcam designed for MI9SE work good on Realme 3 compared to others.
And thanks a bunch! I didn't know Realme 3 had good developer support on Telegram. I found both .xml and latest Gcam (Test1.apk by onFire). Gonna try it soon!
