so decided to stay with the cheaper stuf (realme 7)f due to the battery only lasting so long and the fact that my country isn't officially supported so I may not be able to find battery replacement.
If realme 7 is just not available even after a long time (realme 7 my first choice due to more RAM 6GB) I'll get realme 8 but with only 4GB RAM but waiting for realme 9 to see if the realme 9 6GB is cheaper. (Realme 8 6GB RAM only available with 128GB ROM which makes it much more expensive)

case person, 18 Aug 2021Why do you need/want so much RAM ? 8GB RAM for 150 Euros... moreJust read somewhere that li po batteries can get 300 charge cycles... Considering I'd charge it everyday that's not even a year for me. Do li po batteries really not last? No ways Im spending a small fortune on something that won't even last a year.

8GB RAM for 150 Euros? (I know you can root and use the SD card as RAM giving you unlimited RAM)
8GB RAM is still flagship territory (Poco x3 Pro which id be able to get for around 350 Euro. On techinn 230 Euro without shipping BUT techinn has very bad reviews in my country probably because most people choose the much cheaper government Postal service (which is renowned for theft and incompetence) BUT I still don't want to take the risk as it seems they have very poor support in my country if something goes wrong. Even if they are a massive 25% cheaper than connected devices.
What do you mean don't install/use the correct apps?

https://w... more Almost agree with the article... It is for average user( in $$$).
But in real I have seen a lot of people with above the average incomes and they usually are buying expensive gadget just because they CAN. They don't care about the specifications and are even ignorant about it and not the least, some of them even don't install the appropriate apps! And don't read articles like this... It is for us!
I'm personally still waiting for decent up to date phone with ~5.5" screen, good battery, average performance, >8GB ram and not iPhone...for below 150EU :-) I'm not in a hurry

case person, 16 Aug 2021Thanks for all your help. Now I have to wait for it to arri... moreJust been on the phone. Online store said that if they didn't hear any news of stock with 1 week from now I should get something else as there would be something SERIOUSLY wrong with the supply chain and they wouldn't know how long it would take to fix... And with lockdown and flooding in china it's anyone's guess.
But think I will wait longer to the end of this month. If still no news on stock I will have no choice but pay almost double for 256GB Poco x3 Pro... Part of me wants them to find stock of realme 7, part of me doesn't so I would have to take Poco x3 Pro... And that's the big question of economics... How does a consumer fulfill as many of their needs and wants with their limited resources (money)

Bolo, 13 Aug 2021 You should definitely go for another phone as (for sure) ... moreUnfortunately due to such poor choice in my country. My next best choice will have to be the Poco x3 Pro (the one you suggested) even though it's a LOT (50% more) more expensive which I'm not so happy about.
But hoping to still get realme 7 even if I have to wait a bit (I hope) longer for it. Realme 7 is still the closest match to my desired budget and needs.

Got news from online store. Realme 7 is on back o... more You should definitely go for another phone as (for sure) you haven't convinced yourself for R7. Don't take my/other advice - you already know what you want - just go ahead, buy what you want and you will be happy. We people tend to adapt to the world surrounds us, so whatever the phone is, you will adjust to it, not big deal, just make yourself happy! I also like someone to encourage me when in doubt and I'm really happy when faced the same opinion, but at the end I go my way, so actually no matter what other think just go ahead!
May the Force be with You with the new Mobile Weapon!
P.S. whatever you get share opinion, I'm curious!

Got news from online store. Realme 7 is on back order... And with the flooding in china aswell as the lockdown I'm unsure how long the wait will be.
If I I had to choose another phone. (With Google services) what would my next best choice be for maximum performance/benchmarks? (Budget around 240USD)

In this order and it is good for me always to check versus.com, because sometimes they give different/odd results. Not sure how reliable they are, but just another point of view. You can check for example overall performance for MT G95 vs SD 720G in the aforementioned sites :
1. SD 720G - 100%
MT G95 - 99%
2. CPU Performance:
720G - 42
G95 - 40
Gaming Performance:
720G - 28
G95 - 32
Battery life:

G95 - 60
NanoReview Score:

Even the realme 7 cost a bit more than I was wanting to spend.
Surprisingly the Huawei p40 lite costs a lot more in my country. It's a similar price to poco x3 pro. So realme 7 definitely much cheaper in my country.
Thanks again.
Say do you know of any other benchmarking website other than nanoreview.net ? Wouldn't mind a second opinion.

case person, 11 Aug 2021Wow thank you. Yes I recognize those banks.
You have rea... moreIn short – no I wouldn’t pay more.
If you have time :
What is my point of view when purchasing phone. First – what kind(usage) will be, money range and if some special features(NFC, RAM, IPXX etc). When you define this – do the search. Usually we are addicted to some brands and already have some ideas, but it is good to make additional search. The main thing is to stick to your parameters. There always be some better phones for some more money – if you fool yourself you always will be in doubt. There always will be someone who will criticize your decision. Very important – the more expensive the phone, the more you will regret if something didn’t meet your expectations/went wrong.
I used to have ZTEs, then Xiaomi – very pleased with them. I usually use phone up to 2 years( if didn’t break by accident). Now I was looking for phone up to EU150-160, some rare gaming, reliable good battery, fast charge (at least 20W), descent screen (720 x 1600 pixels is not good, at least 1k x 2k), descent processor, RAM at least 6GB.
I found Realme 7 6/64 and Huawey P40 lite most suitable ones (P40 Lite much better but no GMS – have to work around). There are other phones with like 6000mAh battery, but 18W charge and weak processor. A lot of phones with mainstream 4GB in this price range. Common use of SD 66x(11nm or 12nm litography) or Kirin 710x(12nm or 14nm) or even mediatek P22, P60, G80T, all with worse benchmarks than G95.
Huawei doesn’t have GMS, so it was Realme 7. Plus now I have up to 90Mhz RR screen, NFC, Corning GG 3, SD slot.
There always will be a doubt – for XX Euro more… I went through this, that’s why I mentioned - for +Euro Poco X3 NFC or Realme 7 8GB/128GB, for ++Euro Poco x3Pro and so on until Xiaomi 11 Pro .
Either re-evaluate your requirements or just stick to them. I did the second. It is just a phone – use it for year or two and go on.

Bolo, 11 Aug 2021 As I search for "South Africa banking app" in ... moreWow thank you. Yes I recognize those banks.
You have really made me start to regret my decision getting realme 7 as I see Poco x3 pro has Snapdragon 860 chip... It's too late now (so my decision is basically made) but in your opinion...
Would you have paid a massive 50% more for Poco x3 pro over realme 7 just from a performance perspective? (Forgetting about camera quality, screen quality or build quality, just performance)
Personally I'm hoping that Realme 7 is strong enough to select highest quality (even if frame rate decreases a bit) on most games I'd play like cyber hunter, PUBG, war robots (never had a game with such low graphics lag so much on my weak LG with extremely weak Mediatek P22, these Mediatek P series chips seem so underpowered) asphalt 8 even Fortnite.
