Nokia N93: Photo and video samples

30 July 2006
Nokia N93 was just released on the market and it’s still not available everywhere in the world. Because of its extended photo and video capabilities we believe that the most of the future N93 owners are interested in the quality of its camera. Until we are able to publish full review of the phone we are presenting you some photo and video samples and also some comparison shots to Sony Ericsson K800.

They did the same mistake as with N80, guess we'll have to wait a couple of month before a firmware fixes that noise.

Dont forget that cell phone is a portable device, for it this device must fulfill certains parameters and amog them is battery life. This is the reason, for example, of existence of centrinos, turions and etc. They save energy to ensure better work without wires... Iam right?? How N93 work more time without charge if it has fast processor and more functions???

Please, N80 is a crap with very poor battery life, the same goes with N90. You cant play a lot with this bricks because soon it dies, in the other case you carry travell charger every where. In the case of WLAN, i prefer use my laptop against a cell phone, which one is better, wich one is more usefull???
Maybe some people dont have a laptop and for this they marvel themself with WLAN

Between smartphones SE always has the best in it class, since P800. UiQ is a LOT BETTER than S60 and that is a fact

And why EDGE if your operator has UMTS??? if your operator has EDGE and no UMTS you can choice K790.

Promotional campaign of K800 is imaging field, and is the BEST CAMERA PHONE.

Nokia fans are bitter for this, certain????

Hey Guys stop it! What's the point?
At first place you guys are comparing to cell phones not to digital cameras! although they both have a good camera.
However no one on the earth can compare these two! Because even if you go by the features K800 is out of competition and there is no need to go in details! Actually there is no cell phone in SE collection with the same features! P990 which is not available is equibed with less MPixel camera, No EDGE and other stuff. ANd the same thing goes for others like M600.
So why you guys stick to the camera which they both go almost the same in photo and N93 is the winner in the vedio? The truth is that Nokia overall is better than Sony-Ericsson and I'm saying it from the market share, where Nokia is first and Sony-Ericsson is not even in 3rd place. The same thing goes for N93, may be it's not going to take better pictures that K800, but so what, when K800 is trying to use GPRS or HSCSD N93 simply goes by it's fast wireless connection.

Sony may win on the photo department, but the phone itself lacks any other feature, over any symbian phone. K800 shots better pics, but it cannot compare against a digicam. no body actually prints their pics (they look kinda crap on print anyway) and most people only view the pics on the phones screen. So, it doesn't really mean how many mpx and stuff you have, When your camera phone renders the colors nicely it's all oke. For sure, nobody shoots pics of anything and then compares them with their neighbors shots of the same object. Hence, we tend to forget how colors looked on the real thing in the first place. So, the fact that different devices render pictures differently really doesn't matter. Only pro's need to have high confidence in their pictures resembling the real thing as close as possible. And those guys don't use a camera phone of course: they use Pro Digicams. So actually, all this photo bullying about who shoots best is therefore pretty retarded. In the video department N93 wins, and videos are somewhat more important than stills these day: ever heard of YouTube?

How can the PROTO N93 take better pics than the final N93? Why did they make a mess out of this phone? mobile-review had a proto N93 and it smashed SE in daylight conditions. Due to its XENON flash, SE won in night conditions.

The real power of the N93. Correct me if I'm wrong but these pictures are okay.

Yet again sony beats nokia in the camera stakes and i will agree the sony could improve the video capabilities on the k800i but i donr really use video on my phone and it doesn't really bother me and i do have the k800 and i'm noe biased i have used nokia in the past my last nokia was the 6600 so i know a bit about the symbian phones but i just don't like it always saying not enough memory when no apps open so i will never go back S.E all the way

I agree Tarantula, look at the first two pictures(in the wall there) k800 has higher deatils than N93, again K800 proved to be better and Best imaging phone(thats for sure)...N93 beats K800 in Mobile-review.com... but i remember that before, firmware wasn't finalized yet. now that it has the final firmware.. it's just the repeated event of k750 vs N90,..Carl-Zeiss is just a lens, and Nokia is not yet an expert to equip this Camera lens to a Mobile phone which sony is expert of,..

1.close range: K800 is simply winner here, as the image do not lies...

2.overexposing: yeah N93 held it better than k800...

3.Video recording: n93 again is the winner... because of the Resolution and framerate...

4.contrast, on the first & second photos there, k800 has k750 like colors(which is used to beat N90's performance before) and deatils are better in k800(look at the lower right corner of the big house there)...

both phones have specialty in their cameras, but the clear winner there in imaging is K800 and video is N93...

K800 has better image quality but poor video quality. and that this article says, optical zoom isnt means photo quality. Is incredible the amount of noise in N93 pics, this situation means only one thing: nokia dont have the tech and experience in this field, the fact to put carl zeiss lenses in a phone isnt indicative of a better camera phone. SE have the experience and quality of sony in cameras and they uses it
