As far as being closed source that's Microsofts problem and making an excuse.
Not to mention WP evolved out of the ending of WM. It is now very different and not just updgraded. So again...It did not just come out of thin air and is only one year younger....
And the issue here is the fact that everyone likes to pretend it is perfect and never has all these issues. And when someone says there is some issues everyone gets all fanboy defensive and starts denying and bashing in return...Case in point of the past couple pages or so.
A video on a lumia...And your point? I have an cortex a5 chip running jeally bean. Stock official. 1GHz, half gig of ram adreno 200 gpu. It runs very well most of the time. There are occasional hiccups. Mostly when the memory is full. On a daily driver basis however it very functional.

Besides HERE has as good data as google maps,and has more offline abilities,so this problem and the store problem is something only you're facing.........

Anonymous, 18 Nov 2013Yeah. God forbid anyone know the truth and state it. If so ... moreNo OS is never perfect that being common to WP, Android, or iOS... each and everyone will always have bugs to some extent. However a mature OS will tend to have less bugs than a young one.
Android has gone through many versions from Eclair to Gingerbread to ICS to JB and now KK... and it being open source there is so much more room for bug fixes and faster development whereas WP is pretty much closed and quite obviously young to the mobile world. So it is actually quite unfair to call WP perfect OR crappy.
I think i'll do a video of how responsive my Lumia is... at least that MIGHT shed some light on the alleged "lag"

I knew when Nimbuzz updates cz i follow the RSS... so i can vouch that there is no delay in the STORE of my mob... something surely wrong with your store buddy.

Facebook really has tons of issues. Just visit this link and you see read that lots of people are facing the delayed notifications issues. Not due to network because I received prompted notices on my HTC One when on the same network. TBH, I see the ME tile get notified, but not the Facebook app.

Store - I do not receive any app updates at all, until I need to search for the app for updates in the store. Not sure what's your definition of now and then, perhaps the tile gets updated in 2 weeks later is considered fine with you?
Here maps - Is not about navigation or getting lost on the streets. I do not see the maps as updated as Google maps. I'm seeing coffee houses, 7-11 stores, clinics, etc etc on Google maps but none of that are presence at all on Here maps on certain areas. Perhaps you like Here maps, hence you can stand these shortcomings. But not me.
My HTC One does not get lags at all. Samsung touchwiz is known to be a overbloated launcher. Using that as a comparison is unfair. Stock Android has no such issues at all.

Regardless of how angry and jealous you all get it happens and is true.
They are sharing personal experiences because WP is no more perfect than anything else is. The problem is everyone loves to claim it is so perfect and smooth and blah blah. It lags, it stutters, it plays smooth animations to hide sluggish loading, apps crash, some apps have bugs, notifications do not always work right, there is still a lack of apps, and weird alts.
WP IS NOT PERFECT AND MANY PEOPLE DO FACE THESE weird issues.
Some people have a flawless experience on any OS, but most experience some bugs/hiccups on all os's.
The problem is that some troll has to contradict everything people say and call it all lies and them trolls
I love how people just jump in on the end of something and think they know what's going on. Then get all fanboy defensive.
