This phone or a Xperia SP for $20 more.

You are failing so bloody hard, Samsung.

This device is appealing but it will face a very difficult time persuading customers to opt for this over either the 4G Nokia Lumia 625 or the newly arrived and excellent value Motorola Moto G. Also, as this review points out, its predecessor is a very good alternative and much more affordable.

Would never buy this phone after having Ace 1. The worst phone I ever had, and the review lost me in the first paragraph where they said Ace line of phones always provided enough computer power. Simply not true. Ace never again.

Adreno 225 in my xper... moreadreno 305 is better but it depends on the clocking of the cpu and gpu.. for instance a xperia t is better at gaming than a xperia l.. but an one mini is better at gaming than a xperia t

I have purchased Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 Duos and using it for one week happily. It is my first Samsung smartphone. It has following pros and cons in my unbiased view:

                        Pros:
-4" screen means fit in hands comfortably and easy to use
-Screen is wonderful. Colors are accurate with enough brightness (I prefer manual adjustment and it does not have auto). Outdoor visibility is also good
-Built-in memory (4 GB) is small, but I compensated it via 32 GB SDHC. Apps and Games can be moved to SD comfortably and no crash or slowdown
-Processor (1 GHz dual core Cortex A9) and RAM (1 GB) are more than enough for smooth operation of OS 4.2.2. I have installed over 70 applications (antivirus (Avast) and firewall (Mobiwol) are continuously on, office, media, editing tools, Photoshop, maps etc.) and games (including asphalt titles) on it and still it is fast without any slowdown/crash. I use it as my basic/essential device including SPlanner/SClander. Amazing performance
-Battery timing is 1 day with medium use. I am logged in three different email accounts, Facebook, Google+, Hangout, Samsung services including Chat on, Weather updates and still get 24 hours comfortably
-Camera result is good, even under low light conditions. Check result of low light performance here: https://www.facebook.com/SRIFSD/posts/252869568201851
-Sound quality is good and clean, though not very loud or bass like Boom Sound (I previously own HTC One International version silver 32 GB, but have to sale it due to some personal reasons. I still miss that often)
-Built-in media player deals comfortably with majority of video formats up to 720p. For 1080p, third party media player like MXPlayer is needed. Subtitle support is good. Music player is good too
-Call quality is good with neat and comfortable experience

                        Cons:
                        -Mediocre battery with heavy use
                        -1080p support is not built-in
                        -Sound is not too loud
-Smart stay does not work for me. I do not know what is wrong there. Perhaps due to spectacles…

Overall, I am enjoying it. With 18 months support cycle of Android, I expect 4.3/4.4 update is near future for it.

Still no news of this phone in India..maybe I should go wait for Moto g till January. Want to throw my Lumia 520....this is pure crap

AnonD-4340, 20 Nov 2013Whats a practical purpose to you? battery life doesn't matt... moreSorry, my bad. I didn't know about those chipset details. And you're right about those battery stats.

I still stand by my point though that on the surface the two phones are practically the same. Dimensions, screen, camera, rated processor clock speed, internal memory, rated battery capacity.

Those are what the average non-tech buyer will be looking at anyway. It is only when you want to get into the nitty-gritties that you begin to notice the difference. That is what I meant by *practical*. But yeah, you're entitled to your opinion.

AnonD-4340, 20 Nov 2013I see your gaming point there, but adreno 305 isn't exactly... moreJust wanted to ask - which is better? Adreno 225 in my xperia T or Adreno 305 in moto G!
I think adreno 305 is slight improvement on old 205?
I play asphalt 8 and on release it lagged on my xperia T but run butter smooth on xperia L! But 305 normally appears on phones with specs lower than my T - im confused! Anyway ace 3 is a poor effort especially in looks when you consider the original ace looked like a cross between iphone 4 and galaxy S!

I noticed as of lately that more Samsung fans are now willing to consider other brands, in part due to the region locking but also because the obvious question has to asked: Samsung, does your phones really have to be this ugly? Why?
