Guys,

Being a Nokia fan, i so very want to buy 1520. But using several Lumia phones i realise i would still have to make many compromises with a Lumia as its universe of possibilities is very limited vis-a-vis Andorid still today.. just hope that MS bridges all the gaps asap..

AnonD-134497, 01 Jan 2014Indeed no true match. To be precise, a worthy competitor. W... moreThird generation? Yes. First to market with a "true" phablet which was worth it? Yes. Samsung took a big risk back in 2011 with the original Note, and it paid off. A phablet from any other company back then would have been disastrous. HTC couldn't have pulled it off w/ Sense, especially considering that the HTC One Max isn't big on sales today. No one really wanted Windows Phone 7 back then. Dell's Streak was popular, but not a phablet. It also had a terrible resolution for a 5" device.

Being that Samsung has long since laid out the blueprint to success, everyone has been trying to follow suit. Competitors have studied it as closely as possible, but none have gotten it right.

With today's technological advancements in software, and with the 1520 releasing after the Note 3, there is no excuse. Let's be honest here. Great hardware is readily available to everyone. Samsung is winning with feature rich software, which is a complement to the hardware they choose.

With the S5 and Note 4, Samsung will raise the bar even higher. Who's going to jump and try to reach it in 2014?

                          Happy New Year!
