[deleted post]My basis is that the Note 3 in auto brightness reaching 660cd/m2 has amazing visibility as well. While the 1520 still may have an edge. I saw the one video that shows how it supposedly leaves it in the dust, but I have seen more realistic ones too.
Better yes. Way better? No. And as an overall display the Amoled tech, adaptable tuning, and waycom integration takes a good overall margin.

AnonD-134497, 30 Dec 2013Seems like that reply was for me so I'll reply you back. ... moreIphone was not the first smartphone. IOS was not the first smartphone OS.

Nokia and Sony were some leaders in smartphones back then. Symbian and Windows mobile. And almost every aspect of the Iphone was something bought, copied, or stolen. Even the name. It was also so excessively limited. It could not even record video or send MMS.
It was literally nothing more than a giant ipod that made calls and sent texts.
It was not til the 3GS that it could record video adn got a 3mp cam up from the 2mp of the two previous ones. Not till the IOS update after the 3GS that you could MMS and use copy/paste.
Not til the 4 that you even got a camera flash or decent screen tech.
On the other side while Iphone 3G "second was big" with 2mp, no flash or flash support, no video, no MMS, and so on..Samsung had the i8910 Omnia HD on Symbian. First HD camcorder on phone and first true HD playback. As well as 8mp and flash.
Symbian was light and flexible, simple and intuitive.
Very snappy, offered file browser, 3D multi tasking and rich usb function and mulitple file support.
As well as the AMoled then destroyed the crappy tft screen and it's dual speakers were among top for a long time. Still kick sound.
As well as no offense of course the beautiful and great Nokia phones then and Sony that used Symbian. To which Nokia had worked wonders on. If only they kept with it.
Also...Samsung dropped the phone after a year like a dirty little secret.

They did not start that market. They were among the first to jump on the bandwagon. They helped with popularity to the general public because of the name "Apple". Most of which for that reason believe in the illusion they started things.

I am sorry I grasped that wrong. And I agree they were being eccentric in their words...But I also know the long trolling they came from.

There are an easy choice. If look for a power house and need to do a lot things . Go for note3.
Because a mature android and apps with lot of possibility with open source.

For user just casual and not productivity, lumia 1525 is ok.
Just because it just have the ok apps and enough for daily use.

The worst thing about wp8 is not much customised and close system.
Finally, if call recording is important for you, go for note3, wp8 is not possible to provide this important feature for you.

First of all, how is it false? Apple is the first phone to come up with a "Smartphone OS" and then the trend of smartphones went high. Feature phones started declining from that time. I don't find it invalid or false. I have read it plenty of times on even GSMArena. I just wish I could back-up my claim but I don't remember in which article I have read it.

"seems like you have bitten the dust already"
It means he also went trolling. Following the steps of regular trolls. You again took it in the wrong sense....

There is no need to apologies. You might well, you are not bad at comprehension. I guess it's my way of writing. I can't edit it now. I am sure you have things cleared.

And the first half of your comment said in your logic yes.
But was filled with false info like the apple smart phone thing.

And then you said "Quality over quantity is the way to go and seems like you have bitten the dust already". Which was your own saying separate from the "by your logic" section. And implies that the "quantity" here is eating dust.
So please do not tell me about comprehension. I'm sorry if that is not how you meant it to come across, but that's what you had typed.

AnonD-199407, 30 Dec 2013I'm sorry but the Nokia 1520 is just an oversized smartphon... moreWell! I do gotta agree that it doesn't give much right now for the already available Lumia(s) but I have to point out some obvious things. Better future secure device it is. Best battery live right now. Bigger, better, sharper screen than any previous generation Lumia, one of the best camera(for snapping). Full office suite, Here maps.

It does lacks unique feature like the Note currently had as a stylus over S series but it's a very good device for those who are looking for bigger and powerful lumias.

However even if there is a difference it would not be the opposite..Which to me says you have not really tried it or are exaggerated because you did not like what you saw.
By that I mean I believe in the possible edge for 1520, but it does not exceed by get amounts in the sun.

Anonymous, 30 Dec 2013They over did it, but was in response to crap in the first ... moreYou didn't get it and assumed it as an offense to Samsung users while I just wrote a simple logic by that guys' logic which you named crap which apparently isn't. Since you are all about facts and figures. Therefore, you should have to accept some real facts about the starters in a business.

I do agree that Note 3 is the very first phablet but saying "copying" phablet idea from Samsung is just simple nothing but an attempt to bash/troll and when I counter argued saying what "should" have happen if we all went through that logic which is also purely invalid in any sense. You took it so hard and called it trolling and other stuff? You are lacking comprehension skills.

If it's all about quantity then right now, Apple is the best selling device which is only selling once device in millions breaking records while Samsung got a huge Galaxy line up combined with Note series. I didn't count tablets here as it falls in iPad categories. If I were also to say about quantity then Nokia 1100 would the best phone to date as it sold over 250 million units. Not being a smartphone but it was a "phone" though and the available maximum technology at that time.

Now, answer a simple question. If someone trolls in Nokia articles, it's acceptable for you and I have never seen you saying anything over it but if someone counter trolls and include Samsung and bring some idiotic points, that's trolling and it's the worst thing known to man. Nice thinking..

Only one issue: Sunlight legibilty test does not seem to give results comparable to real-life results. Why don't you just go outside and compare the two screens and really find out which screen has better visibilty under direct sunlight? You might find the result just the opposite to your test results in the article.. actually I guarantee that to be the case, having tried it myself.

Can't ever just open up the comment section and see anything useful...
Anyway...I'm quite surprised of the smaller sensor used by Lumia. Even compare to Z1 and one aspect of Note 3.
Even with that in mind to see the Note3 acquire slithly more detailed images despites lacking OIS, 7MP less, and smaller sensor is a shocker to me..

Video was no surprise though. If only Samsung offered a similar sound recording experience. Al though Two mics is still better than one.

1520 no doubt has stellar battery performance. Where Note 3's is still amazing, plus removable. As well as choice of slim extended batteries and that 10,000mah flip case extender shown.

And the Amoled was bound to come out on top. While some tests show the Lumia may have a slight edge in sunlight visibility.
The Lumia is a beautiful device, but it just seems too apparent that the Note has nearly endless advantages combined with Android.
I still love Nokia as well

I'm sorry but the Nokia 1520 is just an oversized smartphone it offers nothing over what the Nokia 925 ect can already do, only diff here is they beefed up the specs and added a bigger screen that it, all this mainly to blame on the Microsoft, just like Apple their a set rules as to what you can or can't do to the OS.

The Note 3 on the other hand is the only true Phablet on the market today, the S pen makes all the difference & added features even the S4 doesn't get.

And both offer quality. One just offers more quantity as well.
Replying to what you feel is trolling with worse trolling puts you on a lower level than them.

You can say any feature is useless to someone. And Samsung has ChatON which is about the best messaging app I have ever used.

They both offer very fast fluid experience on equal graphics. Android has much more games to offer as well as emulator. As well as better screen for viewing the game. They both perform very well, but the Note 3 has the edge.

I thought the video recorded was good but it's actually horrible. In fact, it's the very first "phablet" from Nokia and it manages to give edge to edge competition to Note 3 and won in 4 aspects. That's a nice win for 1520. Note 3 is by far the most advanced device right now but still, I am amazed how this device has proven to be a worthy competitor. As this Note is a third generation, I am eagerly waiting to see what a second generation Lumia phablet has to offer.
