knows nothing about photography? you better think before speaking because it seens like you talk just you bought the phone. because i been for years in this and i am proud owner of a Canon G6 that i use for work. but can be not so nice to take out because it size.
the nokia pictures are better, i don't know where you people live but if your colors are that DULL and boring, i prefer my sunny country with bright colors than your pale and boring colors.
still not taking into account the colors, nokia pictures are just more sharp, LOOK the macro pictures, sony ericsson was not good enough, the guy looks BLUE, and it have noise around the text and its blurry compared to the n73.
i encourage you to do this.. take the pictures and PRINT THEM, if you don't have a good printer go to kodak photo print center, you will see the difference. nokia its the best.

Overall photos were terrible,but maybe enough good for ordinary phoneuser:1.Noka and SE,3.Samsung

Samsung D900 = low noise, no smudge... Great photos what needs just a little increase of sharpness and contrast in your favorite editing software.

First to say: I know something about photography, because I live for it;-) and sorry to must say but 95% of you are wrong.
Wrong when you say that Samsung D900 is the worst when in fact it produce the best indoor and outdoor pphotos if is light good.
OK maybe on first look for an averige user N73 look the best but that is illusion.
Just open in Photoshop and do little work on photos from all 3 phones and result is always this: edited photos from D900 usully look a little better then edited others. K800 is second and N73 third.
N73 is ideal for people who knows nothing about photography or just won t edit any photo. Just too much processing by phone itself. Samsung D900 is ideal for me.

Although some of the N73 pics look better than the other two but I would rate K800 as number one, then N73 and then D900. I am a big fan of Nokia but sony ericsson is a clear winner here.

Open any of those pictures taken by D900 or K800 in photoshop. Add a 1 pixel "median noise" filter (becarefull dont add more, it will take out all the details) and then do a "Auto Level" adjustment (you should know this if you are familiar with photoshop) and you have the picture just like N73.
Its some inbuild filters and noise reducing setting that N73 is using, nothing to do with its so called Carl Zeiss lense.
You can always get the same vibrant color and contrast just by playing with K800/D900 pictures before you print.
Anyone with some knowledge of photography will always wish to have a rather natural looking detailed picture. Noise can be reduced, color can be adjusted later in any photo editing software. In that case K800 is winner.
But yeh, if you think its painfull (like many here), then well N73 is a winner for you.

These are top class camera phones by every standard, but in this megapixel shootout, I'd say D 900 is way out of its league, so it's really a straight fight between N73 and K800. We are not told what settings are used, and it would be interesting to see how they compare with video capture. Since all phones have auto focus, I'm assuming the camera settings are automatic. I am a nokia fan, but I have great respect for the prowess of Sony Ericsson since introduction of the superb K750i,widely acclaimed the benchmark camera phone. That is why the K800 which was the phone I expected the most from, turned out to be the biggest let down. No doubt the K800 appears to be very good indeed and is probably no pushover by any means. But in this test result, I am a little disappointed by its performance. It is not outstanding like the K750 and in my estimation fails to live up to the class-leading tradition for which SE is famous. But perhaps the real explanation is that SE has been beaten at its own game by old rival nokia. From the shots I have seen and on a strictly visual scale, N73 is the clear winner here. Tweaking the N-series symbian platform has paid off handsomely to produce shots that are more realistic and exhibiting the most natural colors. Impressive. Well done nokia.

Enlarge photo samples and you will see blur and washed colors on k800 and d900 photos and vivid bright n73 photos
It's obvious!
Check your LCDs, those who claim that K800 is better!

I think the K800 takes the win because it not only takes sharper images it looks the bes out of all of them.

It's incredible. Nokia finally did it. It's a top class camera phone with great image quality. Nokia N73 is, without a doubt, the winner.

you can say anything but the pictures are there. and nokia looks better? have u print them? i have! and nokia looks better! k800 colors are washed out, the red chairs picture of the k800 it blurry.
if you sau the n73 colors are unnatural then so k750 colors were.!

Nokia good in features because it is a smartphone
SE good in camera because it is made by well-known SONY
Samsung is good but not as good as Nokia or SE.I'm not a fan of SE but i admit that i do like K800i.But for me nokia is the best despite of its camera.

dudes the k800 is a complete package for anyone today i feel the camera is for sure better than the other 2 but also much much better than the n93 well done sony wonderfull

I have both K800i and N73. I have to say that the K800i takes much more detailed and focused photos. It is also much easier to take a good picture with K800i as it has image stablisation.
Nokie N73 is fine for outdoor photos but for indoor or night image the N73 can not compete. Also you need very steady hands to take a good photo with N73 specially the close distance ones.
K800i is a better camera phone than N73.
However N73 is a smart phone as well.

I have no preference for either brands. If you are curious, I use a Motorola. I just have an interest in photgraphy, so here's my take.
For all Nokia supporters, I got to say some of you may be just plain deceiving yourselves. Maybe you purchased the N73 and feel obliged to support it. But the photos taken by the k800 is definately better in terms of clarity and accuracy. There were some samples where I felt Nokia did better, but I'm incline to blame the photographer.
Perhaps some of you were fooled by the colour depth of Nokia. But if you have ever used simple image enhancing software, you will know that it is easy to enhance colour. Branding aside, k800 definately has the edge. Truth be told, its not significantly better, as some claim.
