i'm planning to buy a n73, i've been using SE k800i, and i hate it... i ended up selling it for less than a quarter of it's original price, the joystick start failing like 3 months or so since i buy it, how could that be possible? nahh no more SE for me, i won't let down Nokia again....

i'm a proametur when it comes to photography, and when it came time for a new phone it was 1 thing that mattered: photo quality. luckily, i had a sister with a k800 and a friend with an n73 so i had myself a little side-by-side comparo. i give props to the sony for having a better flash and scene modes (And it was smallerish), but the fact is that generally (Excluding non-flash night shots) the Nokia produced more PLEASING images. now my, what i consider, highly color-trained eyes know that the SE produced more true colors, it was at the expense of a less appealing image and usually a loss of detail. now the sony's pictures may be easier to do editing with, but when i take pictures with my cell phone, i send them to my friends or upload them (speaking of which the integrated flickr function on the n73 is pretty snazzy), i don't edit my photos, so i need them to look the best right out of the can, which is why i picked the n73.

BOTTOM LINE: K800 produces TRUER photos, N73 produces MORE PLEASING photos, and when its a camera phone we're talking about, its really the images that look the best that matter, not the most accurate ones.

FYI - i use primarily sony cameras with Zeiss lenses for point and shoots and nikons with either nikkor or zeiss lenses for DSLRs

I have used both phones and honestly, K800i is better than N73 in terms of camera. Let's start with the night shots. I dont think that the xenon flash is the reason why K800i is better than N73 when taking pictures in low lighting condition, specially at night. To be fair, I tried taking pictures with both phone's flash disabled, the pics taken with N73 were too noisy, while the K800i gave me impressive shots, low noise and good exposure of the light sources. Both phones had their flash disabled so the xenon flash of K800i had nothing to do with it.

In daylight, N73 has the advantage in sharpness, you can easily see that on the leaves of trees. What I dont like is the color because it's too saturated. It's easier to make a pic colorful than making them look natural. And that's what K800i pics look like, they look like the real thing!

and besides, if you want sharper pics and saturated color of the N73, you can also do that with K800. That's what modded drivers are for!

if i am to be asked, i will not comment for the d900 phone coz i haven't tested the function of the phone. so it is just between the n73 & the k800. to be honest with you all, k800 gives the better shot when it comes to steel images. because it gives you the realistic view on the pictures being taken. the real color will come out, the real details are emphasized, while to that of n73, i'm sorry, it gives you a greenish-yellowish or sometimes bluish image. i even uploaded a picture in my friendster & myspace accounts from an n73 phone & it sucks in the dark i swear!!! because it had a yellowish effect @ the moment, so our pix looked like me & my friends have jaundice!!! while the pictures uploaded using the k800, they really looked great! people, go for k800 or k810 when it comes to camera, but when it comes to sound, i would say go for a walkman phone & not with the n73 coz it really hangs a lot of time! PEACE!

D800 is certainly no competition for these two.

I own an N73. Yes, it does take good quality pictures, probably the best in daylight. But it's not very easy to use, since the camera's autofocus takes a long time to work. You probably need 3 seconds to hold the phone still while you push the button on Red-Eye Reduction Flash Mode. Another con is the mediocre integrated flash which sometimes makes the Close-up Mode looks rather greenish or bluish.

On the other hand, K800i's photos are less vivid, probably due to the phone screen's resolution. But once you've uploaded them to your computer, the pictures look a lot better (though still can't beat N73's photos). But it takes unbelievable pictures at night, specially with that great Xenon Flash that it has. Another brightside of this SE Cybershot phone is that the Cybershot 3,2 MP camera has a lot of shoot modes, probably a lot more than N73's standard modes. But in the body design, K800i's camera lens cover is very loose and easy to move, which sometimes opens unintentionally.

n73 is the best!! it takes vivid and sharp photos but k800i takes better photos at night. The video quality of n73 still considered ok but K800i was terrible!

Man To Be Honest By God. K800/K790 Is Far More Better Than N73 In Picture Taking And Music Quality In Earphones. I Own A K790 And One Of My Friend Have A N73 Music Edition And I Have Beaten Him In Every Asspects Of Multimedia But Not In The Sound Of Loudspeakers. If You Want A Symbian Phone With A Large But Not So Good Quality Display And Music Performance Go For N73 Music Edition And If You Want Digicam + Orignal Xenon Flash + Quality Display + Amazing Sound Quality In Earphones Then For The K800/K790. Its My Own Self Experience. Just Set The Scene Selection Of K800/K790 To Twilight Portrait And Set The Xenon Flash To Auto Or Red Eye Reduction. Then The Cam In K800/K790 Becomes Unbeatable. You Don't Believe Me...? Try It Yourself.

                                Hello all,

I have examined only page 1 so far. As a long-time amateur photographer, I would think that:
                                1. The real competition is between the N73 and the K800.
                                2. The N73 photos are sharper, more colorful and a bit "greener" which sometimes deviates from reality but give the picture a "richer" feeling.
                                3. The K800 photos are more realistic and natural in color but are -in general- slightly less in depth and saturation than the N73. I will post a final evaluation after I examine page 2. But for page 1. My rating is as follows: 1) the N73 (85%), 2)the K800 (81%) and 3) The D900 (70%).

SE K800 is the best then N73. Observe the difference in colour intensity. K800 is better.

I have sony K800 and Nokia N73 the front Camera in sony is much better than the front camera in the N73, the front camera in N73 it always gives distortion pic with small red dots, In sony K800i the back camera in snap shot is better than N73 but in N73 the video capture is better, the sound in N73 is better than K800.
Does anyone know how to get the front camera in the N73 much better? it is sucks in video call
