HTC has made some of the best-looking smartphones in recent history while Samsung has some of the best-selling ones. That’s very much true for the HTC flagship and yet to be seen about the Samsung Galaxy S5, but the clash is no less...

    Expandable Storage,

    Removable back cover to access battery even with water resistance,

    Durability,

    Amoled Display.

        Honestly for me I''ll take m8 for sure..because all I need is speed and I had bad experience with s4 and note 3 because I was a former iPhone user where it has almost 0% lag but got worse because of Ios 7.I'm using m7 now and I had no complain with it just like I'm using an iPhone before I updated to Ios 7...all I can say is HTC one are the only one can compete with apple iphone. But HTC have no marketing muscle.

          I have an iPhone 4S and I want to move on, but afraid of Android as I don"t know the OS..Apple is simple with his iCloud, everything synchronises automaticly. Just because I don"t know Android, this is why I stick for te moment with Apple...S4 or HTC, both are beautifull...

              most reason that im going for m8 :
              -perfect design and greatest primium feel.
              -boom sound speakers is amazing for game plays and watch movies.
              -call quality
              -sense 6 (beautifull and clear)..super fast ui that i see.
              -camera option with great effects(its correct s5 has a better camera in order to quality but dual camera in m8 is more amazing Specially in blur effects and zoom)
              -good support when htc one was the headmost phone that upgrade to kitkat( htc have a very good support for one series)
              -fastest touch Reaction
              -very good battery(first reason that i was going for s4 last year)

              most reason that i dont want s5 :
              -plastic body
              -not good feel for a superphone..
              -many lags in s4 when i had it..i dont belive touchwiz


              all this my personal idea..maybe someone has a different idea.

HTC had a great looking device in the M7,they should have kept the same design, add a third button (instead of the HTC logo) and bumped the camera resolution to at least 8mp. That would have been the perfect smartphone IMO.

                            Technically speaking the S5 is overall about the best compared to the rest. Not the absolute best in everything for sure. But all around in many things.

                            In the end everyone has their preferences true and that is the decider....But it does not change fact and they are definitely not the same. Vastly different display, camera, build, UI, and functions.

                                Honestly, the z1(2) has a lot less features than the Samsung's. Also the view angle and screen size of the z1(2) is so much smaller but with a much bigger body.

                                Lastly, I hate how I cannot move apps from my phone to the SD on the z1. It's probably the same on z2 as well. The frontal camera of the note 3 is much better than the z1 also.

                                      When will GSMArena finally start to consider the aftermarket support of phones? Samsung has Knox, which means that when you root, you automatically lose root. Modding your phone hasn't been a nerd thing for a long time. One day you'll want to try something different or you find something wrong with the current software, then what?
                                      Don't get me wrong, the S5 is a great phone but I think aftermarket support should also be compared on phones.

                                        Both phones are no doubt great. As well as likes of the Z2 and other flagships around.
                                        Samsung is still in the lead, but not by the larger magin they were. However the S5 still tops the charts in most key categories and all around technology when you put your preferences aside.
                                        But they are all so great no matter what your you will definitely be happy.

                                        Although I would say that the Z2 is a bit more comparable to the S5. The S5 still overall comes out ahead, but the Z2 seems to match up a bit better. And if I remember correctly it's speakers are quite ahead of the M8's in volume and quality.
