anonymous, 20 Apr 2014Dude he said water resistant not waterproof . It's differen... moreIt's water proof.
Can anyone think logically. The water proof phones all the same water proof structure.
Some just have a higher rating. They all have depth and time restrictions though. The S5 can be submerged and used under water. Not just splashed and survived.

What a comparison when your phone accidently fell into the water. Plastic body will survive while the one having premium body will become a piece of garbage. A slippery, rounded & heavy brick has more chances to dive :-) hehe

Only bad thing about M8 is that is way to beautiful and you are always afraid damaging it. I own M7 and trust me it has no bad spots. More I have it more I love it!

OK Guys, please inform me what are the large useful gains in software or indeed hardware in these devices that are notable and useful leaps forward as opposed to a relatively small incremental gains that do not deliver the startling performance shift over their so called predecessors. Forget about the specs numbers race where everyone ooooh's and arrrr's over synthetic benchmarks (so what!), one could use a S3 or an iPhone 4s or a Bold Z10 and not be materially disadvantaged in your everyday life (and you are not carting a brick around in your pocket to sms and do calls) so what is driving the market. Carriers with upgrades mainly, not the actual "must have" this device because it does so much more than before. Of course if you can "buy" a S5 in some countries without the tax, then that will certainly be an attraction. The point is that without carrier deals these devices might not survive beyond the initial impulse buy of geeks. So are we deluding ourselves as to what motivate the market - most devices are sold by carrier deals in western countries and more recently developing countries under post paid deals. Large prepaid economies have different dynamics. Without carrier deals, HTC, Samsung etc, could not sell their high margin flagship phones. Remember that and not synthetic benchmarks which is where economics reside.

Renzo, 20 Apr 2014I have an iPhone 4S and I want to move on, but afraid of An... moreYou know it's actually harder to go from android to ios than other way round . You can compare it by example with windows and macintosh . If you use macintosh it's easy to adapt to windows but if you Use windows a mac is very complicated . (My point of vieuw)
So don't be afraid just try it before you buy ;) The big screen is nice when watching vids and easy to type not like to 4 inch screens from apple .
Ps: I am not fat haha ,

Anonymous, 20 Apr 2014HTC sense beats laggy slow touchwiz any day! Well considering you lied about touchwiz being slow and laggy you must of lied about sense winning too. Logically speaking.

AnonD-209094, 20 Apr 2014The waterproofing already proved to fail if the S5 is dropp... moreIt's a personal choice. I like removable battery. I will buy battery charger set for S5 and that charged battery can be easily carried. Samsung has kept this feature as it is their USP.
I agree that it makes back cover weak. But not a big deal.

Anonymous, 20 Apr 2014For those who is comparing each and every smart phone with ... moreThe waterproofing already proved to fail if the S5 is dropped into water, check out that video of the guy who shot the S5 with a .50 rifle.
Why do people want removable batteries? Especially when it makes the back cover jump off when dropped even from low height? What else you want to be removable, the display maybe? Camera?
Lithium batteries should not be run down too far, they are much better off being topped up a little from a power bank, a battery that spends most of its time being between 40 and 80 percent will live "forever" with almost no degradation. Always charge when battery reaches 40%, and preferably charge to max 80%.
The user replaceable battery is the one thing i like the least with my BB Z10. Removable back cover is so old fashion and looks so cheap.

Seems to me that the Galaxy S5 is just the more refined device.

HTC remote can learn from other remotes as it is IR sensor
S5 cannot learn, it's only IR emitter, so if your tv or other appliance is not in their list, it will be of no use.
This I observed when I bought S5.

S5 will outsell s4 by the double I'm thinking in 20 million phones, HTC is beautiful but I'm sure will not sell even 7 million so thanks for participate, samsung wins, oh and samsung will kill other with note4 so thanks again HTC for premium phones that sales so badly thank you for ur beautiful designs in metal.

Please maintain the same ISO and shutter speed if you take the camera comparison seriously. Auto mode means nothing.

For me both devices are a dissappointment,
I have had Galaxy S4 for about 8 hours (it was more than enough) and then I have -since then- the M7
No Question.. .HTC one is way better just try it out...
the disappointments :
I owned s3, s4 and I thought maybe S5 will be a change... who cares about the fprint scanner (I dont want my fprint to be stored in a db..) and the other useless functions...
Disappointing : Same Design nothing new as from technical point of view...almost every new device has the same ...2GB ram, snapdragon, bla bla bla...nothing new, nothing Fancy..
HTC one m8 disappointment...
The on screen navigation.... bloah...
and they removed the ois which made the HTC one m7 sooo good ....
So as it seems GSMarena is obviously SAMSUNG fan...
Go to the stores, check them play with the devices and decide which one is good for you...
