Anonymous, 17 May 2014Unless you are talking about much older models that is not ... moreIt is sluggish. If you own a S5, check in in about 3 months and dare to claim the same ;-). Amoled is all about preference so, I dont like it...you like it end of discussion. And about earphone volume output. Use proper earphones, on dedicated hardware such as noise cancelling and you ll have a blasting sound experience, I personally prefer Sonys logic of dimming volume down enough not to damage hearing (as they stated themselves when asked about volume output) but maintaining optimal sound experience...
So, again, each to it s own liking ;-)

Worya, 16 May 2014I actually own this phone and have had it for around 2 week... morejust tell me, has Sony resolved their long pending problem of low ear piece volume during calls?? I am asking becoz I haven't used any Sony mobile since my K-850, and that was a really nice tech except for a horrible ear piece volume, which eventually is the very basic function of a mobile phone whether feature phone or smartphone. I am asking becoz u know, where I live, Sony's devices are as rare as none, and we don't get them with official warranty. So this question is most important for me, have they gone away with that low ear piece volume problem in current Xperia line or not?

Really upset Sony says that it is not coming to US carriers.
I was trying to convince a few people about how awesome it was and to get it. Especially as alternative ideas or when they want something a little different.

darkraver, 16 May 2014Yeah S5 has best black and worst white...amoled is a totall... moreIf you would look at that logically you would see that has a lot more to do with dimming the display down and having a larger battery in comparison to Z1 or others.
And it was claimed best without having reviewed others like the S5 yet......and in terms of overall. Including new features, new video, and so forth.
Otherwise as far as photography goes it does not stand a chance against the 1020 or 808 still.
But it has other newer tricks.

darkraver, 16 May 2014Well, I used samsung and do not want ever to return to it.... moreUnless you are talking about much older models that is not an issue and were more things that plagued many phones.
Ui is not sluggish. And Amoled slight bluish white is no different than the overly warm "not accurate" one of LCDs. And a little more accurate than some. And when you put it in movie mode the white balance is one of the most accurate there is.
Using real good earphones with any phone is going to make it "better"...Duh???????????????????????

It's a simple easy thing that is the right to the user than can simplify things greatly in a pinch.

Good to see battery life is a lot better than what it was made out to be by some tests and Sony's own claims.
Sad that the screen lost brightness however. Especially since I recently learned the Z1 display did oceans better in sunlight than was given credit for.

AnonD-264523, 17 May 2014"The Sony Xperia Z2's screen may not earn it too many ... moreThere is more to a display then just "accurate colors".
Nor are any of these LCD's "accurate" themselves.
Where the Amoled can be more saturated, the way many like, or more overall natural with more advantages.

"The Sony Xperia Z2's screen may not earn it too many bonus point in today's market saturated with mind-blowing displays..."
It actually deserves every bonus points available out there. Watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SS5DlQIhLTM
To me over saturated display is not mind blowing. When you compare it to the natural display of the z2, you'll see the ugliness of it.

Excellent phone. Almost the best in its catagory. They could've gotten away with 2gb ram and 3k battery to lower the price

mrJ, 16 May 2014duh, they are a leader in cell industry... and if your info... more... This is not a good thing. Drop 7 large on a phone only to see it replaced 6 months later. However, it is still a great phone.

AnonD-134497, 16 May 2014Since when does non-user replaceable battery and wireless c... moreExactly, specially when they do offer a magnetic dock which to me is more useful since it acts as a stand.
Also the magnetic cable can be bought separated.

AnonD-134497, 16 May 2014Since when does non-user replaceable battery and wireless c... moreNon-replaceable battery is indeed a disadvantage.
Unless you change your phone every year.
Most phone battery will start degraded after a year or so. With replaceable battery, you can simply buy new battery when that happens. It's quick, keep your phone & data safe from prying eyes on service center.

The bezels are pretty much the same as S5, look at them side by side! Can someone explain the "S5 has super slim bezels" comment? Also the S5 is more expensive than the Z2....!

This is truly the best smartphone this year.
I wish it had stylus & digitizer, so I can throw my Note 3 out the window :p
PS: Just kidding, I still love my Note 3. But it's hard to resist this Z2 awesomeness.

There is nothing to complain about this phone and yet some are still...
Anyways my phone's contract ends next year so i'll probably have an z3 or z4 lol, but that 89h endurance is really hard to resist...
