AnonD-209094, 07 Jun 2014I agree with the other guy, at this pixel density it is ver... moreNope false information the last 5" 1080p display is exactly at 440 PPI. So I don't know where you are pulling this story of that "their current AH-IPS process could not reach 440 PPI, it maxed out at just above 400, they later stretched it to around 420 PPI with LG G2" and what not.

LG G3 as I found the link and shared one post below is LTPS so Jin was divulging the facts on that one.

I found it here. So they are using LTPS.

The article who claimed to have quoted LG directly stating the LG G3 uses AH-IPS was wrong then.
Good to know.

Jon, 07 Jun 2014I am surprised they say the loudspeaker is only good...80,2... moreIts because of the amplifier chip from Cirrus Logic, same model number as the One M8, thast a lot of power for a phone. Unfortunately the loudspeaker quality isnt near the M8 so loudness is all you get, the audio quality is still absent.
About decibel scale, 3dB is the smallest change in volume the average human ear can distinguish, so even if 80dB is twice as much as 70dB on the dB scale it will not appear that way to a human ear, most people would say "its a bit louder". Everything that has wave properties appear differently to humans, double the intensity of a light source and they will say it got just a little bit brighter but far from twice as bright. OTOH, things that are not wave-like, like 10 coins compared to 20 coins or 2 kids vs 4 kids, everyone will agree that it has doubled. Because, those things have a definite quantity, waves like sound and light dont.

AnonD-205517, 07 Jun 2014what gsm arena and other people and sites DONT know that t... moreThat's surprising because LG says it uses AH-IPS which is another version of IPS.
Do you have some sort of whitepaper link to show they are using LTPS and not AH-IPS?

I am surprised they say the loudspeaker is only good...80,2 db compared to 66,2 db of the G2 for ringing tones. Decibels being logarithmic scale it double the volume for each 10 db more. So the speaker has more than twice the loudness of G2...great.

Rick 96, 07 Jun 2014Duh the s4 screen was good but had it's major faults on it ... moregoogle this
white tiger appears bluish/greenish on the screen of the Galaxy S5, compared to that of the Nexus 5, which delivers a more natural white balance.

Good Review GSMArena!
I always think their review is fairly objective compared to other sites.
- Display: Kinda disappointed that it's a bit reflective
- Performance: Sorta expected the 2K Display will drag the performance down compared to other flagships
- Battery: Good enough battery (almost on par with S5 and M8). But fell short compared to Z2 (28% better). but the removable battery comes in handy - if you want to buy an extra one
- Audio: Surprised it scored excellent. But the low volume kinda worries me. The Z2 while has lower volume, the Noise cancelling ability helps blocking other noise.
- Camera: Eager to see shootout between current flagships. I guess you can't go wrong with either (expect the M8) since the difference will be minimal. I'm especially interested in low light setting. Based on reviews, the Z2 and the Lumias (even iPhone 5s) are the only good ones in low light setting.
I think the G3 would be a good upgrade for owners of: S4, Z1, M7 and possibly 5S. But not for owners of: S5, Z2, M8 and G2 (except if you want SD Card and removable battery).

Anonymous, 07 Jun 2014you don't believe? even the LG Optimus L7-II has better ... moreDuh the s4 screen was good but had it's major faults on it being the really over saturated and fake whites and bad brightness, ik this, my mom has one and I have a LG spectrum. I've compared the 2 and my phone has better white. But here is your problem..... You keep bringing up the s4 display which is old tech. Now bring in the s5 display, produces natural colors, very high brightness, amazing contrast, great viewing angles etc and it was and still is rated the best on the market. But you like to do, as we all see, you will go back and argue with the old " oh the s4 screen is this or that and IPS is the best in every way" no..... Face it dude you're wrong. Write it down take a picture idgaf.... You're wrong. LG is my fav phone company and you don't see me looking like a fanboy stating false info like you are coked up on LG. Snap out of your little fantasy world and think outside of LG.

AnonD-209094, 07 Jun 2014Better to pull the PLUG. I think you cannot imagine how it ... moreYou are on it again. You don't even understand that the GSM Arena battery tests are done on WiFi. 3G/4G radio times are unknown for all the devices they have tested so far. It is too costly to do such tests plus they are never consistent as you cant control tower efficiency and the tower load fluctuations.
No two services are similar in the same country let alone different countries.
You are not going to get more than 4 hrs tops on 3G/4G all day just doing browsing.

Very disappointing web browsing time. Reminds me of my old LG optimus 4X. Some Facebook, A few e-mails and battery is half dead. So, I will stick to my G2 for now. Sad to realize what I thought has become reallty - A gimmiky but useless QHD screen (really, who can notice the differance) on cost of very imporant feature - battery life.

Been waiting for an upgrade and I'm going pull the trigger on the G3. Sony, HTC, and Samsung phones are great, but I value simple, hints why i owned a windows phone since 6.5 days HTC hd2. All the phones are great, but very bloated. The HTC would be a run away favorite if it wasn't for the lack of wireless charging and that damn camera.

even the LG Optimus L7-II has better ... moreleave it bro , they will never realize amoled screen is bluish / greenish unless they keep it near to any IPS display ... their brain is adjusted to fake color ..
they are only seeing true black
(coz always they are switching off the display and enjoying the PURE black )

[deleted post]yes bro.. they are always doing same steps.not checking new features also . hope a seperate camera review will be ther , while comparing with s5 , G3 performed exceptionally well keeping very low noise in low light..(nearaly perfect)
Z2 is proven to be low performer in camera so not comparing.
even for video recording S5 was struggling to stand with G3's OIS+, even to add S5 has noise in audio too ..
i saw in erica griffin's review ..
