31 August 2014
The Motorola Moto G was so close to perfection - beautiful design, reasonable speed and performance, excellent display, capable camera and the pure Android experience at a bargain price. And we mean the...

Personally I would spend a little more and get the Xperia Z as you get the flagship design. Zr is a rare little powerhouse and has removable battery too.

The Moto G is a great value and the 4G/LTE version appears to be as well. ONLY thing they can improve on is the Battery. With LTE using more juice, it should have a MINIMUM of 2500mAh. If 3000, it would be a home run.
Sure hope the G2 (Titan) has the bigger battery.

One other thing, my Moto G LTE was just updated to Android KitKat 4.4.4 and I heard it will get Android 5.0 or L or whatever it will be called. :)

I've had the Moto G LTE since it came out and I love it. Everyone says the camera isn't good, but for me, it's good enough for my needs. I found if I take my time and am in decent lighting, the pictures are fine. If you are big into photography, get a good camera. Oh, and for everyday use, it's plenty fast. It makes my Galaxy S3 look like a turtle speedwise.

AnonD-209094, 31 Aug 2014Maybe we have to view this one solely as a budget device an... moreI put this with the viewpoint that the latest moto g version will also sell at same price point as last year's moto g.As components get cheaper updated components sell at last year's price, therefore the snapdragon 410, 8mp cam and 1.5-2 Gb RAM.As for M2, sony has been historically overpriced,so there is no comparison. The main USP of Moto G was the value for money factor. Besides the updated components will be required even more with Android L as it uses ART. Motorola will push out the update quickly( another USP of theirs) and the phone may lag.Unfortunately in India with the value for money thing, what made Moto g so popular here has now been taken over by xiaomi. nd I am not seeing this as a cheaper alternative to expensive phones btw. I'm just comparing them on their own specs n prices.

AnonD-300407, 31 Aug 2014You missed out an obvious competitor, the Asus Zenfone 5!Zenfone 5 has no 4g so is not a competitor to 4g moto g. Uses Intel atom processor which I somehow doubt will get many updates let alone android 5.0. Also being Intel processor some games won't work.

Basically if you haven't got the money for a nexus 5 then this should be your choice and it comes with the bonus of having a micro sd slot. Android 5.0 should make it to moto g 1-2 weeks after the nexus devices - which is far better than getting an Xperia M2 which has a smaller screen than a nexus 5 but huge bezels making the handset bigger overall than n5. As the original moto g stock reduces eventually the 4g version price will come down making it even more of a bargain. And for anyone with tesco clubcard vouchers until September 1st you can double their value at tesco direct. I just got my partner a Moto E for £50 worth of vouchers - to replace a nasty Xperia Tipo. So for anyone with £75 worth of vouchers you could have moto g 4g, but be fast as tomorrow is last day of clubcard boost.

Also no chance of it getting android 5.0. Doesn't run stock android either and camera is also poor just like moto g. Also zr is ugly and it's thickness ruins the Xperia z like design.
