I own the M7 currently. I'm sorry, but there is absolutely nothing about the HTC One Mini's design that is "more premium", then the Alpha. The phone is larger in every direction, while sporting a smaller screen? Well done. Also, HTC's current design language, it's larger radius curved corners, stretched look, and rounded back make it look like a toy. And this doesn't even cover the fact that the Mini's performance is a joke by comparison. There is really no comparison. One is a toy, the other is an ultra thin, high end performance device with better battery life. The Alpha out performed the S5 and M8. What are we even talking about?

Both devices are over priced and over rated for what they can really do verses a top mobile that is 2 years old.

The other day the grotesquely proportioned new iphones were pshopped to look like they were inline with the competing phones, the thing the iphone want comparing to in an article really is the light saber out of star wars because you don't know what either of them are going to look like in the next frame.

I don't understand how your battery test scores work, the Alpha destroys the HTC in every category but only wins by 52 to 50, makes no sense.

Why does GSMarena always forget that disastrous useless space wasting HTC logo on the front with that no use black bar. It's not the speakers that make it so big, it's that stupid logo that has no use whatsoever.

Xperia z3 compact vs. Galaxy alpha is the real competition. Htc one mini 2 is a mid-ranger phone, so the specs are not much superb compare to the galaxy alpha :)

darkgamer, 17 Sep 2014S5 is water resistant and has usb 3.0USB 3 is a feature. I've seen phones that were never advertised as water resistant handle the same depths as Samsungs. Just because it has a certificate....

Bigger screen should NOT be an advantage if it's supposed to be a MINI! When people are looking for smaller phone/screen, the smaller one should be the better one, unless it's too small like 3.5".
