great comparison but why is there no telephony comparison? especially the audio quality on calls. these are still phones remember and an important buying decision on how well they perform.

First iPhone 6 is the flagship device of Apple and Galaxy Alpha has better chipset than S5 so if S5 is a flagship so is Galaxy Alpha in fact Galaxy Alpha is the flagship of the new Alpha series.

iPhone 6 & Xperia Z3 Compact should be compared with Samsung Galaxy S5.

What happened to the Field of View comparisons? Is one of the most usefull and exclusive tools of this site. Please add it. Would be great to know how much FoV the iPhone 6 sacrifices to achieve that great stabilization.

The Z3C shouldn't even be compared to these other two, it's a true flagship that trumps even the big boys. The iPhone 6 and the Alpha need to be compared to the other minis on the market.

the alpha is missing major components.. competitive battery and extended memory which make it no way a "king" to compare with Z3c.
but still GSM Arena is my favorite :)

This is why I'm more than happy with my Alpha:
-Screen is great outdoors
-Camera is fantastic!
-It's light and slim. Easy to handle, and fits perfectly in my pocket.
-Remove all bloatware, and batterylife improves significantly.
-I have the Gold version, and it's stunning, compared to the black version.
-Almost no heat issiue. At least none, compared to my LG.

I did buy the GS5 and returned it, because it had even worse dynamic range than the Note 4. But GSMArena still gave it top marks for the camera.
I ended up with the Xperia Z2, which was better, although it had a few other issues.
Now I have the iPhone 6 Plus, which without a question does better in dynamic range and processing. Just look at the bright areas of the Note photos and you'll see that there is missing detail.
The iPhone 6 Plus is also tons better at color reproduction, just use the compare tool here, look at the color chart and you'll see what I mean.

I've been reading GSM Arena reviews since 2007, I've found it slightly favours Sammy. But this review seems a fair one.
According to me, As a Smartphone user for more than 5 years, I feel Z3 compact is best here.
Bcz, Screen quality, performance & camera doesn't make big difference unless u keep all 03 head to head and compare.
battery life is very important along with built quality. Further its quite compact & cheaper than the rest. For day to day use, it seems best for me.
Next iphone 6's built quality is best. Alpha really disappointed me as its just a copy of iphone 6. Poor battery life. I feel it lacks innovation than the other 2...

It is really interesting that this is all what a mobile phone has become - not a mobile phone but camera, and specs device for gaming. What about in call quality, reception, clarity, business functions, and please security. I dont find just talking about minor technical gains a big deal. OK if you are a neurotic gamer and that is what you use your "mobile phone" for. It just seems to me the plot is being loss by being too focused on marginal specification gains. For what reason? These are excellent devices in any case from a specs view point. It is just the OS and software that are the real let downs.

Very nice review. Very fair and accurate. I love how the writer didn't give bias to any of the phones.
I own an Xperia Z3 Compact and i'm loving it more everyday. :)
