I totally agree... No first place???? I mean what is wrong with gsmarena and the other pictures... and first of all... just because your pic didnt enter the shortlist, that doesnt mean that the ones in the shortlist are crap. What i do agree is that technically speaking, the winners are hideous... And they are using good cameraphones like W810 and W900, even with autofocus, the technique there is absolutely helpless and they shouldnt be awarded for that.

The pictures are great but the following winners: jingle all the way???, decorations??? and christmas tree with masks????? are very questionable winners, they are just colorful and that's it.
It could have been better if the winners chosen show some culture or emotion not just christmas decorations.
0839, 0654 and quieter then silent are ??? it could be not christmas or new year related at all.
Yes i didn't won and 1 of my 3 entries make it to the shortlist (the 2 are common Christmas decoration entries) but i was surprised the entry no 0322 didn't make it even to the shortlist! And i was even intimidated by 'content' of that entry.

I'm from a third world country and i know by the look of the (homeless/poor?) child's eyes in 0322 the meaning of christmas though there are no Christmas decorations (except for the giftbag by the womans leg) in the picture.
Note: 0322 is not my entry.

YOu are upsolutly right.120% Those images were crap.Somebody actually had two images in the shortlist.YOu cant tell me that those were striking images of christmas(this if for the prev ious comment)

I am really glad that there was no first place winner because i fell that the shortlist was absolute rubbish. I cant believe that GSMArena actually put a photo that was taken by an N73 in the running to win another N73.
I think that mopst of the photos that made it into the shortlist were crap and im sure that there were others whcih were a lot better then that rubbish!

I personally feel more photos were good and definitely one could be selected for the first place and it is unfortunate to have none. But hats off to gsmarena for bringing out talents.

Yeah... I was a little disappointed at first that they "chose not to declare a first place winner", but on the upside I'm happy that the prizes can be spread to more people. =]
I'd like to thank GSMArena for holding this contest... it was a lot of fun for me, and the turnout was amazing! It's definitely something that should be done again. Seeing all the different celebrations from all over the world was fascinating.

man... good people never do that... in fact i have never imagine that GSMarena became selfish in what they offered... i did not participate... but for me is a none-sence behaviour. Christmas Dreaming was one of the best...
I'm not pretending that you guys change your decisions but that's what i think, we all are disappointed.

what a fraud... not that i didnt win but the pics they chose as the winners are hopelessly bad... they're even out of focus! i think some others deserved more to win than those pics there

Comments like "I like picture 048 or *picture name* is nice" are presumably written by picture takers/authors. I do not put more value to the picture even if you hope so.
To be honest, i hope that the winner pictures will not remind each other, and the last picture in the final list or the one before (taken with Nokia 6230 and Nokia 6670 i think, would be amongst the winners)
Picture "Cristmas dreaming" is my absolute favorite. However name could be different, i mean name should "play with feelings"
By the way
I personaly think that picture 048 has no meaning or neither is beautiful.

It is useless to write that. I can "see" your w810i in your pocket. Writing an exuse that your mobile got stolen would be almoust perfect reason to win you think, don't you ?
