20 February 2015
Google and Samsung. The two pillars of Android are good at being partners, but their rivalry is even more exciting to watch. Especially when they pull out their best. The Nexus 6 and the Galaxy Note 4. The two want to be the defining Android device...

Nexus 5 on lollipop also takes 2.5 hours for 0-80
AFAIK nexus 6 gets 0-60 in 20 minutes.

Galaxy series doesn't have as large a community as nexus devices.
All the Samsung's I have owned start declining terribly in performance after 6 months of use at max. Maybe that's an issue with exynos or something, but no one can deny that touchwiz is part of the problem.

What shortcomings does nexus 6 have?

PS: in India the 32gb nexus 6 is about a 100$ cheaper than note 4

Also I would rather have faster updates and turbo charging rather than a device that starts lagging terribly with every update and has a better battery life. It would make sense to buy a note 4 if your job requires a lot of field work and/or you really need the S pen features. All I'm saying is that for most people who don't want to just upgrade every six months, nexus 6 is a better phone.

No amount of shitty custom kernel is going to improve that batterylife. I had nexus 5, so I know a lot about the custom kernel, ROMs etc., I also know most of them are buggy and need to keep flushing every week to come to a usuable state. A phone should work out of box, not like this non-sense.

Field of view on Samsung devices is TOO SMALL now with the MP count so high.

I have to back way up to fit people into a shot using full resolution.

Galaxy line also has one of the largest communities for modifications...

Nexus got totally served on this comparison. And this time, the price can't even justify the short comings.

Also turbo charging in nexus 6 makes battery life much less of a problem. Then the dev support with custom kernels and ROMs is another way to improve battery life.

                Note 4 brightness at 50% - 291 Nits
                Nexus 6 brightness at 50% - 149 Nits

Still Note 4 39% more browsing and 78% more video playback. Shows you the value of 'proper' software optimization unless Nexus.

                Eat that Nexus fans :)
