17 March 2015
Welcome to the Galaxy blind camera test! We have Samsung's most recent flagships – in order of release the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy S6 – and we want to see how much Samsung cameras have progressed in the eyes of users...

I can see that they worked hard on the S6 to improve the already excellent Note 4 image quality. The differences are small as expected but to me, it's a very welcome change.

I think GSMArena should have added more low light test shots considering how much Samsung was proud of S6's low light image quality.

Well that's proven unanimously.have nothing to sat just to boast bout my note.wellmy version does have the 64 bit processors.I believe it's no way much inferior to s6.the benchmark scores are overrated for s6.pretty sure note 4 exynos would score similar scores if not better than s6 if they unlock the true potential of the 64 bit processors.would have note 4 any day over s6..it will be a shame if samsung price s6 above note 4.it is incomparable..

So far I've seen 0 (zero) cases when they actually improved camera performance enough to make it noticable. Don't expect anything. Note 4 camera will remain a kind when it comes to daylight photos. Galaxy S6 will be just a testing grounds for future Note upgrades, and I'm sure they'll swap the camera module for Sony-made piece in the next Note.

Besides, if one wants super quick response, set the camera to save photos and videos in the built-in memory. After you're done with the pictures, MOVE them from phone memory to SD card. Not a big deal.
To speed things up, the SD card can be disabled and use the phone only on internal memory. At least there's an SD slot to backup photos and videos.
Still the Note 4 is a great device with that marathon battery life and removable battery. Also the QHD screen is on par with the S6. There is no reason whatsoever to buy the S6 to supercede the Note 4 if one has the Note 4. I would buy an S6 as a 2nd phone rather. Still love the crisp pictures from my Note 4.

Experience in real life and reviews from experienced photographers are the key. You just showed your knowledge about photography gear. It makes zero sense how 3 times larger sensor lands below some tiny ones. And if you don't believe me, just go for the latest comparison of six phones cameras including Lumia 1020. This lumia nails all the phones, while the competitors actually sit above lumia 1020 in that dxomark.com website. And finally just the fact that nokia 808 does it even better than lumia 1020.

The 'C' one is the best in all the cases. Smoother, less artificial sharpening. More proper detail.

S6 completely got defeated in the last picture.

Picture from N4 can see clearly the pattern on the red towel.
Picture from S5 can see too, but not as clearly as the picture from N4.
Picture from S6 almost not notice the pattern on the red towel.

I think S6 sales will be in trouble. I would rather go with N4 for slightly lower price or much lower price for the S5.

Too much urban landscape, too little nature or people in the test pictures: in this way you just blind test the effectiveness of the sharpening algorithms...

                                        this is quite disturbing...
i thought the S6 would ace this test!
