    Problem with this test is that both the S5 and Note 4 have a longer focal length lens (less wide). So objects at the same magnification will come out larger. It seems like GSMArena compensated for that, through further cropping of the S6 image, which will put it at a disadvantage to begin with (more cropping means more loss of resolution, more artifacts and more noise at the same viewing size, all else being equal).

    The outcome also reaffirms my suspicion that people prefer oversharpened (a bit of extra detail but also false detail, stairstepping and moire) over balanced sharpening.

      AnonD-183110, 18 Mar 2015Well, despite any hardest conditions, photos from nokia 808... moreI can see how much enbiased you are then...

      I know how good the photos of the preview are. They are the best for smartphones.

      But I would never own one. Because it's the only good thing it does. And if I wanted a gadget that the only good thing it does is taking pictures I would buy a DSLR.

      Despite not being a capable smartphone, it also record poor videos.

      I eagerly wait for the day Nokia come out on top again. They will make Apple regret making the iPhone so locked down and featureless, and Samsung regret poor market decisions like not giving 64bit to Note4 to better market the S6. But its just not today.

        Prefer the less processed, smoother and better night pictures of C (S6). The others have too much sharpening making them look jagged.

        Any explanation for the missing pattern on the blanket for 5C?

          Wow! S6 really dissapoints me

            So basically the S6 has the worst photo quality of the 3.

                        Seems like people here cant read the directions. Picture A in the first set of pictures is not the same phone as Phone B is the second set.. They said they will randomly assign a letter to each phone for every picture.

                        with that said, I really hope the pictures I selected are from the Galaxy s6.

                          Anonymous, 18 Mar 2015And the Nokia 808 is crappy compared to my Canon SLR....Are you sure, mate? Your canon of course nails it with quality of photos, but just no way it can beat my nokia when comparing quality/price/size ratio. You will never be able to fit a DSRL in your pocket.

                            C = Galaxy s6
                            A = Note 4
                            B = Galaxy s5

                            GS6 has a weird look, pictures looks like a cartoon, but very low noise, a little bit warm wb and good detail

                            note 4 is similar but with a cooler wb and non cartoonish look, but more noise

                            gs5 is the less detailed of the bunch, but very similar overral

I can distinguish difference between 50 and 100 ISO, recorded sounds from nokia 808 or any high end smartphone and a lot more. But photos from this post are just too much for my eyes.

                                      A is the best in most shots,

                                      C looks like little ~better (maybe equal) in low light and maybe equal in video.

                                      Overall I expecting A, to be S6
