24 June 2015
Once again its June and time for Samsung to present us with a rugged version of its latest range-topping smartphone. This year, once more exclusively for AT&T, it is Samsung Galaxy S6 Active that enters the spotlight with camouflage livery, gobs of tech...

If these businesses gave costumers all the things that they want and need at a good price, no businesses will be alive today. Also how does that make Samsung greedy and milking costumers, when its the costumers choice to buy samsung products and there are other alternatives to chose from like sony, htc and LG who also makes SD card support? yet costumers still prefers samsung S6? and that makes samsung greedy now? and plz dont reply back if your gonna tell me a stupid reason.

The S6... moreI do know the new internal solid state drive in the S6 is blazing fast, but I don't see your point of not needing a memory expansion. Even if I do get the highest capacity, it won't still be enough. I'd get a 128GB model and still want a high capacity expansion of 128GB micro SD card which can do 80mbps speeds. If Samsung can do two SIM slots for their S6 duos version, they can provide an OPTIONAL memory slot. It's about marketing strategy to milk the customers... I bet they come out with an S6 version which has memory expansion within 3 months.

Looks like a a super high speed internal memory like the S6 is perfect for regular use. And OTG are still much faster in file transfers. That is definite.

Always a great thing to have the main internal storage free for downloading, while the micro SD for stock media. OTG would be one last thing to carry around. More advantageous for stocking up my some 40GB of music and audio books collection I have, which I can carry all the time. Therefore, it's even better to have a micro SD card than without even if you use an OTG to siphon off things that need to be archived.

What a terrible failure this was to create a durable handset with a long lasting battery....no no just joking guys. This thing is a nuclear submarine! Well done Sammy. Maybe more phones can adopt larger batteries similar to the 1520 and S6A.

That shld be about 8.2mm thick. And the back panel will have a solar cell at the top to recharge the battery while on the go in the sun.

The transfer speed is remarkably fast. 1000 MP3 files in less than 2mins. Isnt that fast. And OTG is used for backup to free up the space in the phone's internal memory so you need not leave it dangling on the bottom. The good OTG come with a lanyard string to secure on the keychain which isn't a hassle at all.

This is no doubt a good phone: better performance, better camera, better battery life, better impact resistance, better screen, so I don't see any reason why it won't attract a portion of xperia users who are planning to upgrade soon.

It's going to dangle at the port and would eventually loosen the connectors. And yes, you CAN transfer media to a micro SD card from the device. It's easier to transfer files by just popping instantaneously from the device to any adapter, and onto another device. With OTG, you can wait minutes to transfer the files first.

You can have 100% power in just over a minute by changing the battery. The idle time charging can be at home. More efficient, practical, and you do need to refresh your phone from time to time. Do you even value security of your device - charging it out in the open gives chances to theft, power surges, overheating, drops, and water spillage. The back cover ever since the Galaxy Note 3 has been excellent even for daily removal. I maintain practically wireless device throughout the entire day, except at home where I connect to a charger with a timer to automatically charger and disconnect to avoid overcharging. These are the logical steps I take to taking good care of my daily devices. Shifting to different batteries result in longer charging holds with each battery with the current battery technology - yeah, if only they last 3 times more longer with the same volume. When I do carry my bag, I have my power bank to immediately charge the spent batteries, but never to directly charge my phone. When I don't carry any bag, the extra battery is sufficiently small and slim in your pocket. This is why I don't like Samsung's direction on fixed batteries. I hate it, and it limits how I'm using my LTE data. Extra batteries have plastic casings included for carrying. http://www.flickr.com/photos/92800985@N06/shares/V521M8

                                        Loudspeaker test?
I could have missed it, I went through some pages quickly, cause the software pages tends to be copy/paste of other recent products.

I think a loudspeaker test is important on a device like this.
Usually the more rugged, the more silent the speaker, unfortunately.
And those who need rugged phones are usually the ones that need best speaker performance, at least when it comes to talking and ringtone.
