LG V10 review: Screen play

2 November, 2015
There's quite a lot to the LG V10 – a flagship, a phablet, a camera phone, a rugged phone, a Hi-Fi phone and the first of the new V-series. It's a feature-packed device and its signature feature is the secondary always-on display and a dual selfie camera.

your over doing the lie there..... LG V10, better than Note5, come on dude. maybe when the phone is off, like the G4, standby is amazing but normal using it wasn't close to note 4

I love this phone but once again LG are underwhelming. I certainly hope the final version is actually better on battery (which I though the point of having that second screen was supposed to improve). Samsung managed to pull a smaller, more powerful and more efficient phone out 7 months before this was even released. C'mon LG pull your socks up! And actually target the ~5" inch market! And leave the 808 alone. Move onto something else.

Fantastic phone, will wait till next year when the SD820 makes it's rounds in smartphones, Qualcomm has really screwed phone manufacturers this past year, especially LG. .

Awesome review! The only sad part is how power hungry SD808/810 is. I really hope they do a SD820 version next year, that would most likely fix the battery life problem, other than that, this phone is just pr0n in technology. For those who don't like the weight and size, go buy a razor thin phone that breaks by a small drop, this rugged beauty that survives virtually any drop, even on concrete, isn't made for you.

Imagine this device with S820 , 3500 mAh battery, vanilla-Android 6.0 (with possibility to download LG software goodies if needed) - there would be absolutely no competitors to this monster!

Thought i found my phone but i am on the fence after playing with it for a lil bit in a Tmo store. The phone is a bit large and i don't really care for the second display..same reason i am not fond of the Galaxy edge devices. Removable battery, SD card expansion, durability and the camera and video capabilities are a plus plus for this phone. Top all that with the irresistible bag of goodies LG is dishing out ( extra 3000mAh battery, battery charger, 200GB SD card)...sure makes it all very very palatable.

That said...i hope the V10 will be the template for the G5 minus the second screen but with a plus size battery (4000+mAh), 5.5" screen and the QSD 820 chipset. Hopefully front stereo speakers still with minimal bezels, w/a screen to body ratio of >74%.

I've been waiting for this phone. I've got a G2 and I'm due to upgrade. I'm not so sure now.
By the way. Whoever did the review. All of the LG's have had a power button on the back between the volume buttons. Not just this one.

"audio is recorded in stereo at 156Kbps. While we would have appreciated a higher bitrate.."
Say what?? You want higher bitrate when some competitors only offer mono at sub 100Kbps.

That sure is some disgusting carrier branding!

we all expected such a poor battery life. well there was some hope, but lg did it again. even with nonremovable battery 30-10-13h batt life is abviously better choice for regular people. If screen were at least 3times brighter while testing, it would be a bit different, but 100nits? Now I really wonder if sony/microsoft will do any magic times. S810 nightmare.

Android central have 5 videos on the manual camera showcasing the 24,30,60 fps modes. And don't forget about adjusting the bitrate, the 4K bitrate can go twice as high as the G4s bitrate which is insane.

Very good, fair and helpful Review Gsmarena..welldone!
V10 is a very good option and thinking of getting one soon..There is also a Leather Back option you can find it in Hongkong and other countries, for those that they loved the leather back on G4.

Eh poor battery life. To consider it a phablet would make it a bitter disappointment. Well, lg shows it mediocrity once again.
