Sony Ericsson K810 review: A Cyber-shot is reborn

14 March 2007
When it comes to cameraphones, the words K800 Cyber-shot always seem to come to mind. The time has come to finally forget it since the famous cameraphone has received a successor in the face of the spanking new Sony Ericsson K810. The same exciting 3.2 megapixel camera packed into a slimmer body and a brand new design.

this phone is really neat with all its features. but i notice something really wrong with its camera. its suppose to be one of the best around. but when you try to take some pictures in the dark that are very near the lance, it just couldn't focus to the right point, always get a blur picture. this is because the red led thing is too bright and reflects back to the lance. is this a bug?

Hi I wanted to know if this phone has a security lock feature?. for example if the phone is on and when you unlock the keypad it asks for a code for you to unlock the keypad. I need this as I dont want anyone going through my phone.

Get around 3 or 4 days battery off my 810 moderate use of cam, calls, showing videos, bit of net access. Plenty of warning when running down, doesn't just fail. Nice phone, not as 'perfect' as my previous 750 which just felt 'right' for handling and texting, this is a bit more difficult in bigger hands but many phones the same. Cam is very good, options like real camera, flash off, red eye, modes etc. Software upgrade over 750. Keyboard and screen shows fingermarks and collects grease. Nice but not perfect.

k810 rocks men! It is much better than K800! Now I can take high quality pic almost anytime and anywhere. The video resolution is kinna low though, but still at satisfactory level. The sound quality of it is not bad, loud and clear enough. I love the design of the keypad and the lense cover which are much better than k800. Besides, it has xenon flash, bestpic, track id, face wrap and hp print. It is a very good phone and if those people that want a all in 1 phone, k810 is the right choice.

I just buy this phone SE K810i, the design is impresses but the video quality is very poor, his work frame is very low. Outdoor picture is good If you get good light as others phone.
K810i is low in functions, :-( Xenon flash not good
This phone don't play Wave Audio formate.
Contact number not good that i was expected.
Instead of buying a Nokia N95 I buy a K810i because of camera, but sincerely Nokia N95 is the best phone.

Sony Ericsson models now don't impresse me. always same interface
K810i sound is bad in Hight mode, its crash.
I regret to buy this phone which cost me a lots. :-(

Guys think well before you make a decision to buy...

SE K810i is a very very good camera phone, but if your looking for a good mobile phone with camera better stay with Nokia.
SE K810i has easy to use camera & have many digital camera functions(including BestPic & Panorama), good & clear easy to use radio, good clear screen & ringtone, But SE K810 loose out on Nokia in the true mobile phone functions, such as in the storage of Phonebook/Contacts, Nokia 6600 model onward have share memory that can store thousands of Contact (K810 only 1000 contacts or 2500 phone numbers) & can store more than 5 phone numbers per Contact, plus the ability to rename the field on Contact number(not only to Home,Work, mobile& etc), Nokia's SMS/text message can be store in the memory card therefore can store up to thousands of SMS/text. Having a Big Phonebook is an advantage when your a businessman that travel alot(tel# of airlines, travel agent, hotels, clients, suppliers, cargo company & etc), its nice if SE can add fuction or option to enlarge the size of letters in the SMS/txt, because older people have difficulty in reading very small text character.

The kayepad is not very convenient. Better go with K800.
