Hi i was wondering if anyone else has experienced magnetism on theire mate 8 ?
Found this out today when a hairpin frim my wife all of a sudden had fastened itself to the phone right below the power button. This is also the only area on the phone that are magnetised tho the magnetism goes trough the phone and into the screen. Can this be harmfull for the phone? And what are making this area on the phone magnetised? Would love some imputs here.

AnonD-433808, 16 Feb 2016I never denied that we have nothing to learn from Custom UI... moreLike Motorola, yes. Of course it would be ideal. But that's because their customization is very light. We definitely agree on that :).
But I like it that every brand has its identity, as long as you can root and stuff.
I used to dislike custom UIs but now I know that the only thing you really don't want is clicking on a YouTube link from WhatsApp or an email and seing the video open in the stock browser (not even in Chrome) with no way to work around it :).

AnonD-65736, 09 Feb 2016Maybe stock Android allows you to do screen recording "now"... moreI never denied that we have nothing to learn from Custom UI. It will always be this kind of competition that will push the manufacturers to do more. I am actually impressed by the way Motorola has played so far.
One thing that I really found annoying is that Custom UI have sometimes problem with some Play Store apps. I have experienced it on MIUI.
You told me about extra features such as Double tap to wake etc. Can't they do it as company's added feature with stock? :)

AnonD-65736, 09 Feb 2016Maybe stock Android allows you to do screen recording "now"... moreBut I will admit that I had an experience with the Mate 7 and while I liked the look of the UI, it was pretty frustrating to see how many options and features were changed, renamed or misplaced.
Changing the organisation of the settings menu is probably the most irritating part of all custom UIs.

AnonD-433808, 09 Feb 2016Well sir even Stock UI gives you that functionality by Scre... moreMaybe stock Android allows you to do screen recording "now", but it was not the case before some manufacturer introduced the feature.
Another example is the KnockON feature introduced by LG (double tap to wake), now adopted by the vast majority of manufacturers and surely in the Nexuses.
Samsung brought the Smart Stay feature which has inspired many OEMs and apps on the Play Store.
Motorola added it's notification features to Lollipop, and they were adopted by Google with the latest Nexuses. It looks like stock, it's close to stock but it's still custom.
I'm not here to say custom UIs are always better than stock, and yes, there are many other important things to optimise hardware or software wise.
But it does not mean there's never anything good to take from these.
Most people complain about how their custom UI look more than anything and forget to mention how many features they're just glad were natively included and properly integrated by their manufacturer instead of having to install a poorly/generic coded app from the Play Store.
And performances is a debate I don't understand cause I've never had a lagging device since my old HTC Legend.
As long as the custom UI is not messing with basic Android behavior (which I am experiencing with my current phone), I really don't understand what the complaining is about.
You can never understand how valuable a custom UI can be if you have not found a UI which satisfies you (which is personally the case for me with LG's UI which I discovered after a stock Galaxy Nexus).

AnonD-65736, 28 Jan 2016Messing with the stock interface is one thing manufacturers... moreWell sir even Stock UI gives you that functionality by Screencast right in the notification menu shade. My point is there is an app for everything in playstore which these custom ROM's give. You name it ? LED color changer,Check. Icon packs,Check. Wallpaper app,Check.
If you ask me honestly, I would rather work on things like sdCard, making phone waterproof by evading the cost of developing custom ROM & updating my ROM version with change in Android version. Plus, I have always found by reading reviews that Custom UI phones always perform lesser than the one having Stock with the same hardware.
Although, it depends on preference of an individual.

Dre, 30 Jan 2016Well not really use to answering with BluTooth, i just don'... moreSometimes it's just for more screen estate. It depends on the dimensions of the phone, you can have a 6 inch phone with slim bezels or a 5.5 inch with huge bezels wich will have about the same size. I will drop my LG g4 for this just because of battery life ;)

Huawei Mate 8 loud speaker was rated
67.8 and 65.8 and 66.6 by gsmarena
that will give average point of 66.7
that cannot be a deal breaker.
now lets compare......
Sony Z5 series average point is 64.7
Iphone 6s plus average point is 65.2
Samsung S6 edge+ average point is 67
Even the phone well known with their sound (boom sound)
HTC M8 average score 68.7

Dre, 30 Jan 2016Well not really use to answering with BluTooth, i just don'... moreJust a friendly reminder: You should use 'than' instead of 'then'. :) And I personally had a 5-inch phone before Nexus 6, when I saw the Nexus on the phone store and went to test it quickly... I was immediately sold. My 5-incher was a quite "big" phone for such a small screen (One M8) and so the Nexus isn't even that much bigger after all. So much more for only a small physical size increase.

Great Phone...using 64gb version with 4gb ram. This phone is great in multitasking without any lag. Smooth like a silk. i am Samsung fan and already used Galaxy S3, Note3, Note 4 and A7.
However, when it comes to intense game then it lags. Even my Galaxy A7 works better than Mate 8. Sammy beats in display. If you are dual sim lover and wants something similar to Note series then go for this set.
