Samsung Galaxy S7 review: A refinement act

11 March, 2016
Close your eyes and picture the Samsung Galaxy S6, but the way you wanted it to be, not the way it came out. Now open them and look at the Galaxy S7. Better? Let’s see.

Anonymous, 14 Mar 2016Iphone 6s has the same price as Samsung S7....If they are both priced almost equally, I'd rather buy the 6s. Its re-sale value is way way better than the s7.

Nah. Don't like the design. Just the same ordinary phone... Nothing new... The edge is bigger than the other S7. I will still go with the S6 and its edge version.

And in fact for many many years the iphones have actually had way more app crashes.

And the same way iphones lags and glitches are under exaggerated the ones in Samsung are way over exaggerated

yes, Iphone is has no lags and it's not hanging but you don't have much "liberty" with it.
Samsung is freezing, it has lag but you can install whatever you want on it.

Iphone is Ok for girls of for those who are not tech-savvy.

Tann Hauser, 14 Mar 2016This is S6 repacked, with added waterproof and sd card Cam... moreFunny this....it's not in any way a Sony related article and yet here you are peddling your BS Tann......well wonders never cease.

In any event, it's very hypocritical of you to label the S7 as nothing more than a repacked S6. After all your a Sony nut, and iteration has been Sony's principal smartphone philosophy for several years now....

Just as much (or just as little) has changed between the S6 and S7, as did between the Z3 and Z5 (and that had the Z3+ in between) yet you never seemed to have a problem with iteration in the Sony camp....hmmm...

Hypocrisy is definitely your thing Tann.

                                  GSMA own observation :
"›The all-new 12MP still camera is capable of near-instant focus thanks to its dual-pixel technology. Images are detailed, dynamic range and colors are good, and in terms of image quality it's definitely an improvement over the S6's already excellent shooter."

                                  http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_camera_sensors_compared_sony_vs_samsung-news-17183.php

Download the full size samples. Samsung sensor in the S7 performs better than the Sony sensor in the S7 (whichever variant you happen to get with your S7).

Sony sensor - washed out look is very evident in set 1 and 3. Purple fringes on vertical edges of the doors in the corridor in set 2... still far better quality though than what a Z5 can pull off (compare for yourself using the iso 12233 test)

I'll rephrase my sentence, the Touchwiz that is in the Galaxy S6 (and not the versions before S6) is excellent. I have the S5 also, my wife uses it now, and while it's a great phone, TouchWiz wasn't as good as the one on S6, 5.1.1.
