Android doesn't lag a lot. And ios is not lag free.
Ios leads in app crashes, has its own lags, glitches, and bugs.

Has there been any proof that Samsung is using different sensors?
The article from the people behind the sensor and the naming suggest, that it's the same sensor, but produced by Samsung and Sony. They do need different names, as they will have slightly different performance, due to manufactoring process.
From comparissons made, it seems that Samsung has a bit of job left in perfecting the processing from the sensors. They have differences that they should not have, for example the white balance differs, and file sizes of the same subject in the same conditions.
So we should expect the S7's imaging capabilities to change slightly. If we are lucky that would mean more details in low-light situation for the Sony-made sensor and better white balance for the Samsung-made sensor. And perhaps they could improve processing of foliage in images as well. And I hope there is some more dynamic range to get out of the sensor. And the HDR mode definately needs work.
If I'm not misstaken the iPhone uses a RGBW sensor, and that is some special tech as well, so they should have that mentioned in the article. Perhaps that does help with dynamic range. It could also help in low light situations, but there it seems the iPhone's sensor tech is behind the Samsung, anyhow.
And GSMarena, bigger pixels is not a guarantee for better performance. A lot of people in camera forums strongly belive that, but it's not completely true.
With tech evolving, sensor makers have been able to get less noise out of smaller pixels. That is why fullframe cameras got a hugh resolution bump beggining a few years back.
Also processing has evolved, with better processors and more advanced algorithms, it's possible to get better pictures even out of a pixel with the same amount of noise.
So sometimes smaller pixels offers the same or better performance.
Using the same generation of pixel technology and same generation of processing should mean better performance from bigger pixels. But sometimes advantages are used for increasing resolution rather than improving low-light performance and dynamic range, and sometimes there is a small advantage in lowlight performance and dynamic range, from one generation to the next, even though pixels are made smaller (those advantages could probably been made bigger, keeping the same pixel size, but people want more resolution as well).
Also keep in mind that different sensor makers use their own special tech for pixels in their own sensors, meaning that one could potentially gotten further along in minimizing pixels. So a bigger pixel from one company might not be any better than the smaller one from another company, even if the sensors are introduced at the same time.
However mobiles do need better lowlight performance, and pixel tech has not come long enough, so the step back in resolution and the bigger pixels from Samsung is a good sign. But I still fear that Samsung will make pixels smaller for the next generation, simply because they figured out a way to make Dual Pixels smaller, instead of focusing on improving the lowlight performance further. (Either increasing resolution for next generation, or getting rid of the hump, while keeping the same thickness of the device, or making the device thinner, but not increasing the hump).
Looking av how we look at images today, 12 megapixels in 4:3 ratio, is a good compromise. It does not allow for a lot of pixel-zooming on todays high resolution monitors. But that should not be big issue, as most people don't do that.
And it allows for Ultra HD video recording in 16:9 format. And that is pretty much a must from marketing perspective.
Although I belive that using the same codec and the same bitrate for a 1080p video would not result in much lower actual captured resolution, people still want Ultra HD. (1080p in good quality also upscales pretty well to Ultra HD on a TV, so if people got really good 1080p material from their devices, they would hardly notice any difference between that video and a ultra HD video shot at the same bitrate, even if they have ultra HD TVs., but sadly makers does not offer that option)

Apple and samsung are big players, if you decide by tech, samsung wins - got newest phone(by few months). If you decide by usability it matter: if you want personal assistent, no lag and always new OS without bugs, phone with OS from own manufacturer thats compatible with PC, and all kinds of proffesional apps, phone with xxx devices made for apple phone. --or you want phone on which you can do anything without software/hardware limitations, phone with top specs(screen,camera-s,sims,battery,sensors), phone with many gears: watch,tracker,VR,360cam..., phone in which you got Some say, phone thats not just phone, but also game console, pro dslr like camera, top audio/video player, remote of white/black home tech, your medic. tech, your full replacement for credit&membership cards. (it should be all)

Absolutely brilliant article & straight to the point. The S7 is by far the better device by along shot! I guess I'm an adventurer but there's nothing imperfect about the S7 though so not sure if perfectionist is the right adjective for iSheep

iPhone is super overpriced phone, even 200$ motorola moto g 3rd genration has its uses and have the same performance as iphone and if you don't believe you can see videos on YouTube and i am talking about daily usage performance here, in terms of gaming iphone can beat moto g because of far more powerful cpu and gpu but that doesn't matter because motorola moto g is 200$ phone and ther is no lag even in games just don't have graphics quality like iphone

For some reason they are stating that the Apple iPhone 6s is more compact. This is simply not true. It's 7% LESS compact than the S7 is. They forgot to factor in screen size.
