LG G5 vs Samsung Galaxy S7 edge: Low-light shooting

04 April, 2016
The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and the LG G5 both come outfitted with some great cameras, which should potentially bring low-light photography with a smartphone on the next level. We set out on foot on the streets of New York to put these two to the ultimate camera test - their image quality when it comes to shooting in the dark.

Anonymous, 05 Apr 2016The build quality is actually very nicr, it's metal unibody... morethe building quality isn't that good, just watch that huge gap between the module and phone, it's a joke

They probably wanted specifically this kind of comparison to happen.
The issue is that if you don't use a tripod(and you most definitely do not), the image will be blurry(because of the ISO hackery)

I bought the S7 and I still think the S7 is overall a better phone.
But lets be sincere, "G5" didn't win by a small margin, it's not like you look long at the image and can't understand if there is a difference.
LG G5 won by a Big margin over S7... All the images look A Lot better...

If you use a tripod the ois of both phone is useless and of course the one with more mpx will win because the image is still. At same shutter speed and same iso i don t think that G5 will output better pic in low light than s7

Though I can agree the design isn't the prettiest but so did people think of the 6P which turned out very nice in person.

Please go back to your corner and cry out little bit longer because i know for sure that this comparison really breaks your heart.
It seems the 1.4micron and F1.7 aperture is only looks great in specs sheet but not in real life situations.

This comparison battle will definitely wow a lot of folks thinking otherwise about the process of LGs latest flagship. I'm loving it so far. The G5 has the camera package to beat.

Then why is it that if I use the Photo Compare Tool on this same site, I see that in low light the S7 completely destroys the G5? - I don't know what to believe anymore...

you should compare between LG G5 & Galaaxy S7, not the phablet S7 Edge
Great Job LG G5, Samsung is always artificial...

                                Wow hats off LG....
The photos are really very good

                                From a technical aspect
IMO I didn't liked LG's approach in low light conditions they tend to keep noise low by lowering Iso but at the same time increasing shutter speed which may result in shaky image...
But 3 axis OIS has done its job
I wish LG changes their auto mode algorithm a bit by lowering shutter speed and increasing a bit iso.

But...but...but...everyone is praising S7 camera for it's low light performance, so what happened here? Well...seems like G5 is holiding its own. Well done. Both phones are really good, but when you consider the price, LG will probably be chosen by majority.

this still wont make the g5 a better option than the s7 edge , except if all you care for is the camera ,, but for the full package the g5 cant even compete with its "low battery , low grade screen and ugly&cheap look "
