No comment in the battery analysis about the fact that the G5 has a user-replaceable battery and the S7 does not? That's a hugely important feature for people who often use their phones away from a power outlet!

Poor judgment there...I work with a telco and I can tell you sales figures have never determined the quality of a phone...Smsng might sell more units due to boader market reach and fat marketing budget as compared to LG! ...think of this analogy..If Toyota sell more Corollas that Porsche, does it mean Toyotas are the better cars?...I bet not!

And the onky reason they were given the edge over the s7 here was because slightly more accurate colors and sometimes while having much more superior processing in the S7 sometimes its a little too much.
And since you specifically mention the dual pixel focus they made it a point to say that the S7 had a much better advantage there.
And um....better cpu, better audio, better display, water resistance, better battery, more advanced and secure software, so on.
Yes G5 gets cool points for the modular....but does not make it the automattically better.
And the modules are expensive a lot less usefull than they lead you to believe.
So try again.

nah.. in the duel the G5 that doesn't have a dual pixel can beat S7 that have it.
simple if the main feature got beat down by other flagship even those flagship doesn't have the technology from their competitor the winner already clear.
also their performance is tie. audio G5 won, only some display and batteries G5 lose.

I wonder if these smartphones are ever tried as phones on these tests. How do they rate in phone call audio quality? how sensitive are they to have a reasonably clear call on weak signal areas? What about environment noise suppression? It seems nobody cares any more about the phone part of the smartphones... :(

The SD810 inside of my Moto X Force ties, if not beats the Exynos 7420 in the S6/Note 5, while the SD810 inside the Sony Xperia line of phones/HTC one M9 was getting whooped by it. It all comes down to optimization and release schedule, and the other guy was right that it is a bit early to judge. It seems as though the Exynos 8890 wipes the floor with the SD820 as far as CPU performance goes, and the Exynos will always have a slight/moderate lead in CPU even with the best optimized smartphone. Samsung, LG, HTC, a few others are usually the first devices to be featured with the newest CPU models, and they usually are the slowest of the flagships for that year because either there is a revised version of the particular CPU that those smartphones contain that they missed out on due to releasing the smartphone in question too early in the year, EX: the revised SD810 that the HTC one M9 missed out on; or there is an entirely new CPU coming out that is slated to be the beast CPU/ fastest mainstream CPU of that year, EX: the SD800 3 years ago that the HTC one missed out on; the SD805 the LG G3 missed out on, the SD820 pro version/SD823/MSM8996Pro that the GS7 missed out on but the next nexus, the Note 6, and whatever Lenovo Moto is released at the end of the year (droid turbo 3?) will receive. Optimization plays a huge factor; the GS7, HTC 10, and LG G5 would be the worst performing flagships of the year anyway, whether the SD820Pro/SD823 would be released or not, because they will not be as well optimized as the next Nexus, the Sony Xperia X performance, or the Moto X 4th gen.

Are you serious about photo comparison? What I see is a real problem of LG with small details. The images look like some kind of very bad 3D photo. Grass and leaves are smudged, tiny details of curtain in the window are totally gone. And gsmarena declares this a winner? Really?
Sorry, but with this decision You totally brought the whole comparison down.

Expensive phones and very powerfull thou if i had one of the 2 i wud be happy but Samsung changed the pulldown menu and that looks without any doubt outstanding. Really difficult which one i wud pick so ive to check more...and think.
