04 May, 2016
Want a flagship smartphone with all the bells and whistles but you’re not good at keeping an expensive piece of equipment out of trouble? Motorola to the rescue. The Moto X Force is a shock and water-proof flagship, with high-performance hardware, impressive camera and a clean Android experience.

I wish they had this phone in Canada. I would have bought this device if they actually sold it in Canada.

DonAlduck, 05 May 2016I always appreciate every reviews, and this one too, but wh... moreand then they bitch about SD810 not being the latest Qualcom best soc.. LOL

Phecabooth, 05 May 2016I already saw both drop test. yes, it is very durable phon... morewhat you do if you buy this phone because this review says shockproof.
and on a first drop your $600-$700 phone is die? (it could happen)
Motorola say this fault is not under warranty.
irresponsibility to say that is shockproof.

      also the Main disadvantages:
      The battery is not user-replaceable?
name 3 flagship device with replaceable battery in 10 second.

vrvly, 05 May 2016Not shock proof? See that kind of play: https://www.youtube... moreI already saw both drop test.
yes, it is very durable phone might be the most durable smartphone on the market.
but Motorola never claims that this phone is shockproof!

Phecabooth, 05 May 2016What?! Not the first time I saw peoples are saying is shoc... moreNot shock proof? See that kind of play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKdSFwkIHp4 or better hard touchdown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTJOL5ikuZA .

            What?!
Not the first time I saw peoples are saying is shockproof, it is a false data, Motorola never claims it is Shockproof.
            From the review
"The Moto X Force is a shock and water-proof flagship, with high-performance hardware, an impressive camera and a clean Android experience."
It is not Shock and waterproof!
            From Motorola Site:
1 The display and embedded lens are warranted against shattering and cracking for four (4) years from the original date of purchase; scratches or other damage to the protective lens is not covered by this warranty, but should always be in place to prevent scratches and other damage to the underlying components. This phone is not shockproof or designed to withstand all damage from dropping. All other warranty exclusions, including scratches and other cosmetic damage, intentional damage or abuse, normal wear and tear and other limitations apply.

2 Advanced nano-coating technology creates a water repellent barrier to help protect against moderate exposure to water such as accidental spills, splashes or light rain. Not designed to be submersed in water, or exposed to pressurized water, or other liquids. Not waterproof.

            Disadvantages:
When it was released the SD810 was the best available SoC.
            Single color option
In the Moto Maker you can choose many colours, defenately not single color option.
            you can choose
            2 front colour
            5 Ballistic Nylon Option
            6 Soft Grip Option
            3 Leather Option

            Bad review.

Thank you for finally reviewing this phone GSM. And for doing a proper screen test, the x style did not get the full screen analysis.

With the dearth of Nexus outside the US, the x force is a good option for stock Android. Of course the sd820 equipped 2016 x is just around the corner, but I fear Lenovo will samsungify Moto phones, so they might not be an option.

In the end, despite all shortcomings of the x force, this might be a solid choice for those of us that prefer to use a phone for several years. It will be a good replacement for my aging x 2013

I love Motorola but their shortsighted approach to exclusivity is costing them dearly. If I'm not mistaken it's been more than 7month when this phone was released and they prevented it from coming to the US because of exclusivity with the Droid Turbo 2 on Verizon. And now they to chose to bring it here...nice phone but arriving way too late and the SD810 doesn't help.
The next generation Moto devices are around the corner...will rather wait and see what they are all made of.

This Moto X Force is still good if they price it correctly..say about $300 just to get rid of the stock to make way of what's coming.

Since its intended to be a "rugged" phone, why not make it IP68 at least, instead of just nano coating?

Fingerprint scanners are now standard on almost all flagships, and many mid-rangers. This should have it, too.

Why do you say "Single color option", that is not true...you have the option to build your own moto...other companies don't allow the user to custom their phone like Motorola does.

What's unfortunate here is at least for my country Malaysia, Moto is being grossly sidelined by its boss Lenovo. There is absolutely zero direct representation for Moto phones here and no hints so far as to when will this situation change.

I saw youtube vid how it falls from sky and survives. Even 3310 got crack on screen, this not. Well chipset is old, but still no competitor for this beast - it got also Best camera when it comes to clean detail in shots/4k - actually its like Liquid Jade Prismo(f2.2) but with bigger aperture - f2.0 (yes, no ois, but 1.4 µm pixel size - same as 12Mp cam in S7). Its No.1 for now.

It must be upgraded. Snapdragon 820/823, super amoled display, dedicated audio chip are suggestible.

I think the reason the screen doesn't go fully black is Moto may be trying a new software trick to avoid screen burn in. Believe it or not, new amoleds still can suffer from burn in, especially with phones that use onscreen navbar.
