LeEco Le Max 2 review: L'etranger

08 June 2016
To get the disclaimers out of the way, this is obviously not coming straight from Beijing’s Latin Quarter. Although a certain penchant for all things French is not entirely incredible, you can bet LeEco has a keener eye on neighboring India – probably its biggest potential source of revenue after the home market.

I think the review is biased regarding the camera all other reviews i have seen pointed out that the nightshots are really bad unusable by any means and the video suffers from being unable to refocus ,the camera in this is really a let down and cant call it a flagship camera also we can compare to the daylight shots made with the same senzor on the meizu pro 5 and the difference is huge and meanwhile corner softness is present on almost any camera on the letv max 2 the corner softness cover over 40% of the picture.

No audio jack? No, thanks. Really stupid move.

You describe camera as good, so explain why its so blurry...
What more to say about it... camera UI is meant to be simple, but to shoot the way you want you must swipe through many choices. Why not just include button for every function on screen, when you shoot every milisecond matters. Same as UI of sony. What matters is not how screen look like but how useful is it....

Shame there's still no UK/EU launch. Nice review but pointless to many readers (that's directed at the oem and retailers).

Is it built like a flagship. Last video i saw of this phone - It bent and cracked off like a soggy cookie

Great looking phone, great price and specs. The only concern is the battery life - the first round of LeTV phones had poor battery life. I would rather have a regular HD display and longer battery life or pay more for it - my choices for great battery life: Meizu Pro 5, Xiaomi Mi5 and Lenovo Zuk Z1 - all over two days between charges.

With rising popularity od Chinese online stores in Europe i think it might sell quite well outside of China. I've see my friends having tons of fun with those imported handsets. Batteries seem to last long enough for at least a day, the features are as good as on other handsets but the price is the key factor here as we get A LOT of phone for peanuts. LeEco should hire a nave speaker though or at least hire someone to translate the interface because "CLEAN JUNK" is not the most fortunate of phrases.

                              The pricing is amazing

Camera samples are truly awful - I'm not sure the editor/author of the article has actually examined them. While at the center of the image everything is well resolved, the sharpness falls off a cliff at the sides. 21MP here is a gimmick.

Also the article fails to answer these questions:
                                * is bootloader locked or not? Is is possible to unlock it?
                                * can I get root?
                                * what kind of device they used? There's a Chinese version without Google services, what about an international version? Can I swap a Chinese firmware with an international firmware?
                                * is there any chance to install CyanogenMod on it?
                                * is kernel source code available?
                                * can I uninstall built in LeEco apps?
                                * does the phone phone home?

                                It's all immensely important.

                                      Thanks for the review.

However, the article missed the usual low light shooting.
How bad is this phone in low light photography?
If we're taking into consideration of that image with a plant on white background as low light, it's so so given that it's blurry on the edges.
