Sony Xperia X Performance review: Chief of staff

17 June 2016
It's the best Sony’s got. The Xperia X Performance is the chosen one to fly the banner of Sony's revamped smartphone lineup. The top of the range, the Deus X Machina, the one to make you forget about your ex – the Z-series.

Anonymous, 18 Jun 2016One source is not enough troll. If you decide to use your brain you would realise it's a design flaw due to the large fingerprint sensor.

Logic says this will be the same for x performance.

Xpect xperia x performance to snap in half due to plastic frame.

I have Z Ultra and I waited for so long for Sony to release a good phone but what a waste.
The phone itself is amazing but in comparison to other phone like LG or Samsung it lose.
In software part, the Sony UI is smooth with punch of good native apps but it lack features, and now they are removing them ( removing small apps for example) and let not forget the camera.
And lets not forget the high price tag too.
If you compare what you pay and what you get, Sony will not be your first choice.
My next phone will be not be a Sony 99%. Today Sony lost a loyal customer.

                [deleted post]Very true.

There will be a very small number of them.

Resulting in this device being the biggest flop of the decade.

Sony's fan base is tiny compared to Apple.

It would be a shame to have mediocre batterylife while everything else is SUPERB on this device, including screen, UI camera, sound system, performance, build.

I guess it will get improved by sftw update, and well, qnovo makes up for it a bit atleast.

Ah well, nothing is all perfect.

I have been using Sony Xperia V, and Xperia M5 now. But this X lineup (except for XA) is just disappointing. What they sell simply cannot justify the price. Next phone will probably be a samsung...

After looKing at benchmark results i felt like benchmark results doesn't reflect real world performance, may be partially. And 1080p and 1440p screen doesn't affect the benchmark. I want to check it out whether screen resolution affect app opening speed and multitasking. While reading the review i felt like in every department the phone is just good not best or wow. The review says it is an average phone with extra premium price.

Once again no launch times and memory retention tests ... I want to buy this phone, I really do, but knowing close to nothing about its everyday performance bothers me.

Your performance pages is filled with peak performance tests that tells very little about day to day performance. Phones rarely use peak performance. They either use sustained performance (gaming, rapid browsing within apps) and/or IO performance (either RAM, storage or both). Your tests only touch those but don't really test them. How am I to know how fast this phone is?

Its really not worthy of the performance label, when all the other flagships are leaving it for dust in almost all the important areas, especially the price.
